Looks: Sheherazade’s Tale

scheherazade's tale

Hello gorgeous,

today’s look is simple, warm, and perfect for this cold season. Here’s how to achieve it:

Products used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sleek Makeup Arabian Nights Smoke & Shadows I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette
Sleek Makeup I-Divine Bohemian Eyeshadow Palette
Pupa Vamp! Mascara in Chocolate Brown
Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit
Benefit Coralista Blush
Benefit High Beam
Senna Lip Lacquer in Blush Wine

EYES
1. Prime your lids with a good eyeshadow primer. My favourite is Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
2. Pat a peachy pink shade (I used Scheherazade’s Tale in the Sleek Makeup Arabian Nights Smoke & Shadow Eyeshadow Palette) on the middle parts of the lid and lower lashline.
3. Pat a shimmering cranberry shade (I used the one in the Sleek Makeup Bohemian Eyeshadow Palette) on the inner and outer parts of the lid and lower lashline. Blend where it meets the peachy pink.
4. Sweep a shimmering warm brown (I used Genie in the Sleek Makeup Arabian Nights Smoke & Shadow Eyeshadow Palette) on the crease and outer V. Blend.
5. Apply a matte nude shade (I used the one in the Sleek Makeup Bohemian Eyeshadow Palette) on the browbone.
6. Apply brown mascara.

FACE & LIPS
1. Apply foundation all over your face and concealer where needed.
2. Sweep a coral pink blush (I used Benefit Coralista Blush) on your cheeks.
3. Pat a light pink highlighter (I used Benefit High Beam) on those areas where the sun would naturally hit, such as the top of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and your chin.
4. Apply a shimmering and semi-opaque rose lipgloss (I used Senna Lip Lacquer in Blush Wine) on your lips.

Looks: Back To School

back to school look

I rarely wore makeup in high school. It just wasn’t the done thing in Senigallia. But on some days, the urge to wear makeup was too great, and then I’d do a simple look that made me look polished and didn’t take too much time. No students wants to wake up an hour earlier just to do her makeup!

As a lot of you have started school again, I thought I’d show you an example of a typical look I would have worn back then. I know some of you will object to me using high-end products a lot of students can’t afford, but to me, the point of looks and tutorials posts is to give you ideas you can adapt to your colouring, needs, and budgets. You don’t necessarily have to use everything I used. Similar colours would work well too.

Products used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Senna Eye Color in Coppertina
Senna Sketch A Brow Pencil
Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation
Pupa Vamp! Mascara in Chocolate Brown
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit
Milani Minerals Blush in Luminous
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Super Natural

EYES
1. Start by applying a primer on the lid. You don’t want your eyeshadow to start creasing during math class.
2. On the lid, crease, and lower lashline, apply a subtle neutral shade that accentuates your eyes and you feel comfortable in. I used Senna Eye Color in Coppertina, a light and warm copper shade infused with gold shimmers.
3. Fill in your eyebrows with a pencil that matches their colour. I used Senna Sketch A Brow Pencil.
4. Brown mascara looks softer and more natural than black, so, imo, it’s a better option for school. I used Pupa Vamp! Mascara in Chocolate Brown.

FACE & LIPS
1. Apply foundation and concealer as needed.
2. You don’t want to take too long to do your makeup in the morning before leaving for school, so use a blush that also doubles up as highlighter. Avoid very shimmery blushes though. Looking like a disco ball is not a good look, especially in the classroom! I used Milani Blush in Luminous, a peachy pink blush with gold shimmers.
3. On the lips, use a subtle pink sheer gloss like Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Super Natural.

What do you think of this look? What do/did you wear at school?

Looks: Chocolate Binge

chocolate binge 01

I’m on a winged eyeliner kick lately. Only this time, I’ve abandoned black, and opted for a more colourful, but still intense, navy shade. Because I wanted that to be the focus of this look, I kept the rest of the face natural. I hope you’ll like it.

4. Apply a matte ivory shade (I used New Moon in the Senna Haute Nudes Palette in Sultry) on the browbone.

6. Line your upper lashline with a navy blue eyeliner. I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Binge, but if you have a navy liquid eyeliner in your stash, use that one. It will make the blue pop even more. Once you’ve drawn the line, wing it out.

8. Apply mascara. I used a dark brown one, but you can use a black shade, if you prefer.
