What I liked:

In 2005, Dior launched Miss Dior Cherie, a gourmand chypre with strawberry and popcorn notes. Then, a few months ago, it was reformulated, becoming subtler and blander, and, in a move that outraged many perfumistas, the brand also changed the name of the scent to simply Miss Dior. Only that a fragrance called Miss Dior already existed and it was actually the first fragrance ever launched by Dior. It’s a classic, and a far cry from the blander, less sophisticated concoction that Miss Dior Cherie is, and that will now be identified with Miss Dior. And although the old scent still exists under the name Miss Dior Original, the history of perfume was changed forever. It was a very sad day for perfume lovers indeed.

But what’s done is done and all we can do now is discover how the new Miss Dior smells like. The old Miss Dior Cherie started with a very strong accord of strawberry, pineapple and a hint of mandarin, and although I read reviews stating this blend had been watered down to a generic sweet top, I can still distinctly smell the strawberries. The mandarin and pineapple I can’t detect at all. Actually all I smell is strawberry popsicle. It’s fruity, youthful and reminds me of my childhood summer holidays, when, after a day spent playing ball and building sand castles, my mom would get a strawberries popsicle for me and one for my sister.

But although the scent evokes nice memories for me, I’m now approaching my 30s and strawberry popsicle is not what I want to smell like at all. This strawberry popsicle note is present in the heart notes too, although is now more subtle, and is blended with a white floral note, jasmine. The popcorn note has completely disappeared. The strawberry finally fades away in the drydown, which is a blend of “sanitized” patchouli and musk, which gives a clean quality to the scent. I believe that even those who don’t usually like patchouli would have no problem with it in this scent.

As you’ve probably figured out by now I’m not a fan of the new Miss Dior, but that’s because I am outside of their target group. Although a lot more subdued and blander than the original Miss Dior Cherie, it is still very fruity and very sweet, which will appeal mostly to teenagers and young women. Staying power is average. I get about 6 hours of wear before I have to spritz it on again. Instead, I love the bottle. It’s a simple rectangular bottle with a cute bow that’s pretty and elegant.

Miss Dior Fragrance is a sweet, fruity floral blend that doesn’t change much on the skin. It’s a very youthful scent that will appeal mostly to teenagers. It’s not too strong and lasts for about 6 hours before it’s time to reapply it. And the bottle, which has a cute little bow, is very pretty.

Honestly, I’m not. It’s not that I don’t like the brand: the products are good, the packaging elegant and beautiful but the steep prices always put me off. What can I say? I’m a drugstore girl at heart and this collection isn’t going to change it.

I do think it’s a beautiful and interesting collection but so far the only thing I’m lemming is the bright fuchsia lip color. It sounds intriguing and looks so pretty! What about you? See anything you like?

What I liked:
- moisturizes
- absorbs quickly
- isn’t greasy

What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t last all day
- the fragrance
- the price

My body’s skin is dry and it becomes seriously dehydrated in the cold winter months. So, I’m always looking for a cream that highly moisturizes and this is just what this product claims to do.

The cream is white and has a light, somewhat liquidy although not runny consistency. It goes on smoothly, absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy at all. It leaves my skin soft, smooth and moisturized, but not as much as I need it and it doesn’t last all day. My skin starts having dry patches again in the evening. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good but overpriced product that does exactly what any moisturizer should do, it’s just doesn’t do much for very dry and dehydrated skin.

I’m not very fond of the scent as I prefer my skincare product to be fragrance-free. However, this has a nice scent that is not overwhelming.

The product contains several emollient ingredients like Isononyl Isononanoate and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which is an extract derived from coconut. It also contains Glycerin, which attracts water from the environment and slows down the loss of moisture, and silicones such as Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone, to give skin a smooth feeling. However, one of the main ingredients is Alcohol, which can be drying.

Summary:
Overall, this moisturizer is just average. It hydrates skin and leaves it soft and smooth. However, it doesn’t hydrates very dry skin very well and doesn’t last all day. And I just can’t seem to justify the price. $40 for a scented moisturizer that does exactly what any regular moisturizer should do is just too much.

I’ve been wanting to try Diorshow Iconic for a long time, but the price tag was putting me off. After all,  €26 for a mascara is a lot, what if it doesn’t deliver what it promises? So, when I went to the newsagents and found a magazine that came with a sample of Iconic I just had to buy it!

The mascara comes in a pretty silver tube with the Dior logo embossed all over it. The brush has bristles that are closed together and slanted to grab every single lash (even the little inner ones). Just like Chanel Exceptionnel, you need to twirl the brush as you apply the mascara.

The formula is  quite light. A couple of coats will give your lashes amazing lenght, definition and separation, but unlike Exceptionnel, it doesn’t give  that false lashes look. Instead it looks very natural. But you need to be careful or your lashes will look spidery, which isn’t good. I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this mascara. While I like the natural looking effect this provides, what I want from a mascara is that dramatic, wow look and this just don’t achieve that. But if you have naturally long-lashes or want great lenght with a natural appearance, this is the perfect mascara for you. And it doesn’t clump at all!

It doesn’t really curl my lashes like it was supposed to do, but it held the curl from my curler all day. And the staying power is amazing too. I’ve worn the mascara for the entire day and didn’t experience any smudges or flakes. It is a bit hard to remove, though.

Summary:
Overall, Diorshow Iconic is a really good mascara. It separates, defines and lenghten lashes but still manages to look natural. It doesn’t clump, flake nor smudge and it lasts all day. However, it doesn’t curl lashes, is hard to remove and is expensive.
