Is it bad that I want Bond no.9 High Line Fragrance just for the pretty bottle? Just like the fragrance, the beautiful bottle, decorated with grass and fuchsia tulip buds that spring from gunmetal grey rail tracks, is inspired by New York’s newest Park High Line, a former rail that hovers 30 feet above street level.

The scent itself, a floral-marine blend, sounds really intriguing too. It opens with purple love grass mixed with citrusy bergamot and zesty Indian rhubarb, has a floral heart of red-leaf rose, Lady Jane tulips, and grape hyacinth, while the lingering base notes combine bur oak with sea moss, musk and teakwood.

This holiday season, Bond no.9 The Scent of Peace fragrance got a Swarovski Purple Velvet Treatment! The fresh fragrance, which features notes of grapefruit, black currant, lily of the valley and musk, is now available in luxurious containers whose surface is decorated with  glittering Swarovski stones that give off rich and seductive shimmer.

This fall, Bond no.9 have teamed up with the Andy Warhol Foundation to launch a new perfume: Andy Warhol Success is a Job in New York. The fragrance was inspired by Andy’s fascination with the connection between art and money, while the name comes from Warhol’s first assignment in the ‘50s as an illustrator for a Glamour magazine article which was entitled Success is a Job in New York.

The fragrance is a genderless, warm and spicy gourmand that features top notes of coriander, cardamom, mandarin and bergamot; heart nits of jasmine, tuberose, rose, plum, and pimento; bottom notes of vanilla, patchouli and amber. The bottle, which features Warhol’s iconic money sign, is blue on one side and coral on the other.

Next month Bond no. 9 is releasing a new fragrance called Astor Place. The fragrance is inspired by Tony Rosenthal’s rotating black metal sculpture called “Alamo”, but known locally as the “Astor Place Cube”, situated at the corner of Lafayette Street and 8th Street.

Astor Place is a fresh floral and is described as a unisex fragrance with a feminine touch. Notes include violet leaf, mandarin zest, freesia, red poppy buds, iris root, teakwood, musk and amber.

The bottle echoes the angles and cubes of the Rosenthal sculpture, but renders them in a range of triangles displaying a rich array of colors.

Bond no.9 Astor Place will launch in April, and will be available in 50 ($145) and 100 ml ($220).

For Mother’s Day Bond no.9 is releasing a limited special edition of the fragrance. The 100ml bottle will be decorated with Swarovski crystals ($300).

Bond no.9 also wants to recycle your empty glass perfumes bottles! If you have any, bring them to Bond no.9′s boutiques and counters and you’ll receive  a refillable pocket spray, free with any purchase.

When Bond no.9 introduced their latest fragrance, Brooklyn, they received a lot of different opinions on the graffity-style design bottle and how it could look like instead. So, throughout March 2009, Bond No.9 is holding the Brooklyn Bottle Design Competition.

Two winners will be chosen in early April. Not only their designs will go into production with their names displayed on the bottles, but they will also receive one bottle of Brooklyn per month for a whole year.

Rules:
- Create your own bottle design in any style you like, figurative or abstract, as long as it inspired by Brooklyn. You can also use any medium you want to create it such as oil, watercolor, makeup, pastel, etc.

- The design has to fit within the outline of the Bond No. 9 superstar flacon (see picture above or download it at www.bondno9.com) and has to include the Bond no.9 circular logo.

Next month, Bond no.9 will release their latest perfume, called Brooklyn. Brooklyn, home to a century or more of strivers, dreamers, and Nobel laureates, is changing. Now, it’s where artists, musicians, graffiti-ists, web designers, aspiring editors and fashion stylists live.

The scent has captures the vibe of the fresh and ever changing city within a city. Brooklyn is a woody, spicy-filled oriental fragrance. The scent, described as “unisex with a desirably masculine attitude”, is romantic, sexy and distinctive. It has top notes of grapefruit and cardamom, a heart of cypress-wood, geranium leaves and juniper berries and bottom notes of cedarwood, leather and guaiacwood.

The clear bottle is decorated with edgy, handwritten script in a street art inspired style.
