Micke, thanks for your comment. I’ve just checked her website and you’re right. I never really believed that silicones suffocate skin but I thought that the less volatile types such as dimethicone could cause problems for people with sensitive or acne-prone skin who are easily irritated. I’m glad that’s not the case.

Very nice blog! But if you check out Paula Begouns web site you can read that silicone doesn’t actucally cloge pores and therefore a perfect ingredient for acne prone skin.

Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyannide, Iron oxides, Chrome Oxide (color) & Chrome Hydroxide (color, as in Greens).

Marie, as far as I know this ingredient would be used in an exfoliate product to give it a certain consistency/texture but it doesn’t have any exfoliant properties. While it is a safe and good ingredient, if you’re looking for an exfoliating agent, I’d recommend AHAs (like glycol acid or lactic acid) and BHA (Salicylic Acid), which are gentle and effective.
