I am like a magpie.
When I see something shining, I forget everything else.
Like, how much I hate removing glitter nail polish. It’s such a pain, isn’t it? It takes ages, and you need to really soak your nails in acetone, which isn’t the best thing for them, really.
But, but, but… how can you resist something so pretty as Mavala Moonstone Nail Polish?
You can’t. At least, I couldn’t. I took a look at the swatch on the Mavala stand and I instantly knew it would be coming home with me.
Moonstone is a light, stone-blue based shade with magenta, red, and blue glitters that sparkle like a prism. The sparkling effect is VERY intense, and unique. Depending on the light, it kind of changes colour, as one of its many hues will take center stage for a while.
Granted, it’s not exactly the right shade for the office, unless you work at the coolest company ever. It’s more suited for a night out clubbing, but that’s not my thing. This is one of the reasons why I love freelancing – I can wear whatever I want whenever I want. 🙂
I’m not sure a dupe exists, I’ve never seen any shade like this before, which is exactly what attracted me to it in the first place. Besides, you don’t really need a dupe as this stuff is so cheap. Mavala isn’t one of those brands that charges more but gives you less.
The little price is proportioned to the small size of the bottle, which, by the way, is so convenient to carry around. And who ever finishes a big bottle of nail polish anyway?
Because it’s so glittery, this is one of the few Mavala shades that needs at least three coats to become fully opaque. But, at least it has the decency of drying super fast, so it’s not too bad.
Now, if only something could invent a quick way (and by quick I mean instantaneous) way to remove glitter nail polish…
