Name: Honey Tree Pumpkin Butter
Brand: Haus Of Gloi
Size: available in 6 oz and 2 oz jars

From Haus Of Gloi’s website:
Quite rich! Right from the bee hive – honey amplified by seductive essence of resinous vanilla, darkened by a passing waft of mild rare wood smoke.
What I liked:
- very moisturizing, leaves even very dry skin soft and moisturized for the whole day
- if you like cloying sweet scents, this is for you
- because the texture is so rich, you’ll only need a tiny amount for each application
What I didn’t like:
- some people may find the scent too sweet and overpowering
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know that I’m not a big fan of sweet scents. While I do have a sweet tooth, I don’t really fancy smelling like I’ve just spent the entire morning in a confectionery shop. But when I read how Haus Of Gloi, my favourite body care brand, described their Honey Tree Pumpkin Butter, I knew I had to try it.
“Quite rich! Right from the bee hive – honey amplified by seductive essence of resinous vanilla, darkened by a passing waft of mild rare wood smoke.” Isn’t that tempting? The mild rare wood smokey whiffs really intrigued me, as I thought they would give an interesting twist to an otherwise too sweet blend. And while that’s true, the woody and smokey facets are really as mild as the name suggest.
They darken the scent only very so slightly, overwhelmed as they are by a huge dollop of sweet honey dipped in a bed of milky vanilla. The scent is absolutely delicious, and if this was a dessert, I’d finish it all within minutes. But it can’t be eaten. This is meant to be applied all over the body, which is then enveloped into a sweet, cozy and very cloying embrace. And I can barely stand it, which is why I used this Pumpkin Butter so sparingly in the past few months.
Yet, I appreciate its complexity and the brand’s attempt to create a different, new honey scent, which is why I didn’t let my personal feelings about it get in the way of the final rating. After all, scents are very subjective and while Honey Tree may be too sweet and overpowering for me I can see it appealing to many ladies. Just make sure you try a sample first in case you find the scent too powerful too as it is very tenacious and will hang around on the skin for the entire day.
Instead, I can find no fault whatsoever with the performance of this Pumpkin Butter. It’s every bit as moisturizing as all the other Haus Of Gloi Pumpking Butters. Its rich texture, which allows you to use only a tiny amount for each application, and moisturizing properties are due to Shea Butter and Pumpking Seed Oil. Both have antioxidant properties that can help skin looking younger for longer, while Shea Butter can also improve skin’s barrier function and prevent water loss. As a result, even the driest of skins (and mine is very dry) is left soft, smooth and moisturized for more than 24 hours. Isn’t that amazing?

Haus Of Gloi Honey Tree Pumkin Butter has a rich and moisturizing texture that leaves even the driest of skins soft, smooth and hydrated for the whole day and more. However, some people may find the honey and vanilla scent, which has subtle woody and smokey facets, too sweet and cloying.
