Product Review: 30 Some Weeks DeodoMom Cream Deodorant + Giveaway

deodomom rollon 01

Name: Deodomom
Brand: 30 Some Weeks
Price: Jar $10.00, rollon $12.00

From 30 Some Week’s website:
We specialize in a toxin-free and hypoallergenic deodorant for individuals with very sensitive skin regardless of age and gender. The deodorant is particularly suitable for pregnant women and young adolescents who are typically more vulnerable to toxins and skin irritants. The product, made weekly and in small batches, contains ZERO% Aluminum, Alcohol, Fragrance/Scent, Colorants/Dyes, and Parabens. It is also 100% vegan – no animal testing or animal byproducts. But unlike most “natural” deodorants it WORKs: 24+ hours of protection with only one application.

What I liked:
– effective, prevents you from stinking for the entire day
– the cream in the jar has a lightweight texture that dries quickly
– fragrance-free
– ideal for pregnant women, people with sensitive skin and anyone who wants to avoid deodorants with aluminum

What I didn’t like:
– the roll-on deodorant takes a few minutes to dry
– the roll-on deodorant may leave a white residue on the skin if you use too much product

DeodoMom Cream was created by a wife and husband who were concerned about minimizing exposure to aluminium during pregnancy, but still wanted an effective deodorant. Available in jar and roll-on form, both of which have the same formulation, DeodoMom is free from aluminium, alcohol, fragrance, dye, or parabens. In fact, it only contains two ingredients: water and Magnesium Hydroxide (the active ingredient in Milk of Magnesia), a mineral that has both absorbent and antibacterial properties.

Although they contain the same ingredients, I’ve found that the cream in the jar, which has a lightweight consistency, dries sooner than the roll-on. When I applied the latter, my underarms remain wet for several minutes. For this reason, it’s best not to apply too much. Besides, if you overdo it, you will be left with a white residue on your skin that may stain your clothes. Despite these small shortcomings, I still prefer to use the roll-on, simply because it is more convenient and easier to apply.

DeodoMom works well for me. I apply it in the morning and it keeps me from stinking for the entire day. I should point out that I’m not a very sweaty person and I hardly break a sweat even when I work out. If you sweat more than I do, you may get different results and may have to reapply it at least once throughout the day.

The deodorant is also fragrance-free and has no smell at all. It was a bit odd having to get used to a deodorant that doesn’t leave even a subtle fresh scent behind. All you’ll smell when you wear it is your natural scent. But the lack of scent is a good thing, both for those who are allergic to fragrance and those who love it instead. The former will be able to use DeodoMom without it irritating their skin, while the latter will be free to spray on whatever perfume they like without having to worry about how it will interact with the scent of the deodorant.

The packaging is extremely simple: a white roll-on tube and jar with a green etiquette. It isn’t glamorous at all, but to me it reflects the simplicity of the formula. After all, something doesn’t need to be fancy to work well. Overall, I think DeodoMom Cream is a basic, but solid, deodorant that is perfect for pregnant women, people with sensitive skin and anyone who is looking for a natural, aluminium-free deodorant.

Water and Magnesium Hydroxide

Available at:

Available in jar and roll-on form, DeodoMom Cream Deodorant is an aluminium and fragrance free deodorant suitable even for very sensitive skin that keeps bad odour away for the entire day. While the cream in the jar dries quickly, that in the roll-on leaves skin feeling damp for several minutes and, if you apply too much, also a white residue.

That sounds very interesting (except for the residue matter). I’m only wondering if those deodorants also work in summer time when it’s hot and humid. That’s why I’d love to win the roll-on! :-)

I’ve been looking for a new cruelty-free deodarant so I’ll definitely look into this! I’d love to win the roll-on, as you said it seems much more convenient!

To find an aluminium free AND working deodorant is like looking for the holy grail, it seems. In the drugstore I’ve got a range of 30-40 deodorant, of which about 10% are aluminium free. :(
So to test this, would be lovely. Thank you for the opportunity!

I’d like to win either, roll on or jar. ACtually rather the jar. It’s easier to take a tiny dose along when I travel. And believe me, I’ve tried to get the ball out of the roll ons to get to a bit of deodorant to put in a tiny tub before.

I would love to try this! I still haven’t find the right deodorant, and every time I have to buy a new one I’m just clueless. I would like to try the jar because it sounds better, I’ve been reading your blog every day for a year, and I trust your reviews.

I’d like to try either I only use natural products and haven’t tried this one so that’s why. If they were both before me and I had to pick I’d take the roll on because the ease of use. By your comments I’d choose the jar. I’ve used secret when I as a teen and it did keep me dry but I respect my body and don’t want to use harmfull chemicals. I’d like my teen boys to continue this and would love for this to work better than what we currently use. Although I think our society has a warped sense of how we should smell or rather not smell or sweet.

I would absolutely love to try this, and if it works, I would recommend it to others. I have been searching high and low for a natural deodorant that works… (haven’t we all….) and so far no luck…

2 ingredients?? Can’t be bad. The cream one seems like something that would work well for me.

    Thanks for running the contest!

A few days ago I spent at least half an hour only in the deo section in my drugstore looking for a deodorant without aluminum that I don’t know already 😀 I think people still don’ t have enough information about how harmful it can be. Otherwise they wouldn’t buy those deodorants and all the companies would be eager to invent something new, wouldn’t they?

Thank you for the giveaway! I think I’d go for the roll-on since it’s so convenient, but wouldn’t mind trying the jar as well. Trying new things is exciting, even if it’s only a deodorant :)
