Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.63

Hello everyone,

ready for another round of random ramblings? Here we go:

Wishlist, Vol.5

wishlist 05

1. Dior Mono Eyeshadow: Dior has launched new range of eyeshadows that can be used both dry and wet. I love that it contains both neutral and colourful shades, such as Bow, the beautiful medium bright pink hue pictured above.

2. Benefit Fakeup Concealer: an hydrating crease-control concealer that promises to hide dark circles & diffuse fine lines for a silky smooth, ultra-natural look. It is available in three shades.

3. Modcloth Tidal Jewel Dress: I love this dress. It features a sheer, sapphire-blue overlay with floral embroidery, which flows over a silky, emerald-green lining and is elegant enough for a dinner party, but casual enough for daywear too.

4. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Illuminating Bronzing Veil: ultra-lightweight loose powder hearts feature bronze and gold micropearls for a warm luminosity with the smooth look of a loose powder veil, but without the mess. I’m not a big fan of bronzers, but these little hearts are adorable!

5. Kate Spade Karolina Bow Shoes: how cute are this mint heeled-shoes with a golden bow? They are the perfect accessory for spring.

6. Rouge Bunny Rouge Megaplumes Dramatic Lash Mascara in Oxblood Panache: this black based burgundy is subtle in colour and claims to be flattering with blue, hazelnut and green eyes. It’s an intriguing shade, don’t you think?

7. Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Shimmer Brick: This beautiful shimmer brick features bright pink, golden pink, and icy pink pearl pigments. It’s a must for all fans of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks.

What I’m Reading Now

an object of beauty steve martin
An Object Of Beauty by Steve Martin. Lacey Yeager is a young, ambitious and charismatic woman who decides to take the NYC art world by storm. Hired by Sotheby’s, she soon realises the art world is full of possibilities to become rich with whatever means necessary. Personally, I couldn’t relate to Lacey at all. She doesn’t really seem to have any nice qualities and takes advantage of anyone, even her close friends. This spoiled the book for me, but overall, it’s not such a bad read. What I really loved about it is the portrayal of the history, practices and the highs and the lows, of the art world from the late 1990s through today. Complete with pictures of modern and contemporary masterpieces, the book will explain a lot about the art of today and why people are willing to spend huge sums on “art works” that simply look like crap to most of us. Overall, I’d recommend it to those who are just starting to get into art. Experts may find it boring as they probably know all the twists they’ll encounter in the book.

Sunday Survey, Vol.142

1. Favourite Disney sequel?
Although I love Disney movies, I’m not a big fan of the sequels. They very rarely live up to the original movie. But if I had to chose, I’d say The Rescuers Down Under.

2. Should lip products be scented?
I prefer them to be fragrance-free, but I don’t mind if they have a scent, as long as it is subtle and fades quickly.

3. What’s your main skincare concern at the moment?
Very dry body skin. I blame the cold winter weather (and the very hot showers I take to keep warm).

4. Tie or bow tie?
Tie!

5. Do you like espadrilles?
Not very much. I think they are comfortable, but they’re not my style.

  1. 1. Favourite Disney sequel?
I agree with Ana, Aladin 2 was the only sequel I can think of that was good.

    2. Should lip products be scented?
I’m less bothered by scent than I am by taste, especially that odd sunscreen flavor.

    3. What’s your main skincare concern at the moment?
Oh, what isn’t? Probably sensitivity/peeling due to heavy acne treatment.

    4. Tie or bow tie?
    Tie. Definitely.

    5. Do you like espadrilles?
On other people, I think I’m too clumsy for them.

  2. Ah I’ve been waiting for Benefit’s Fake Up Concealer to arrive here, I heard it will be around this month or next month so I’m excited as it isn’t as drying as most concealers are :D
My main concern for skin at the moment is definitely skin dryness, it hits me hard at the latter part of my pregnancy so I’ll just wait for my hormones to return to normal :D

  4. 1. Favourite Disney sequel?
I also don’t really like sequels – can’t think of any at the moment! I know it’s not Disney, but the Shrek follow-ups were OK, and I’m actually looking forward to MonstersInc University!
    2. Should lip products be scented?
I really don’t mind either way.
    3. What’s your main skincare concern at the moment?
Dry skin on my heels :( I know it’s my fault partly, as I HATE wearing socks, so my feet dry out in the winter! Ick!
    4. Tie or bow tie?
    Tie!
    5. Do you like espadrilles?
    Not really.
