Name: Owl Hand Cream in Wild Rose
From NPW’s website:
Owl Hand Creams are an absolute Hoot! Very cute and colourful owl shaped, screw-top containers filled with moisturising and nourishing hand cream that will leave your hands feeling and smelling fantastic.
What I liked:
– lightweight, non-greasy texture, absorbs quickly
– makes hands soft and smooth
– adorable packaging
– packaging can be reused to store cream or other small objects
What I didn’t like:
– if you have dry hands, this won’t be moisturizing enough for you
What can you buy a girl who’s obsessed with cosmetics, owls and the colour pink? But a hand cream housed in a pink owl-shaped packaging, of course! I hooted with delighted when I opened the little Christmas present my boyfriend had handed me and found this adorable hand cream inside. It’s the cutest thing I have ever seen and has taken the place of honour on my desk. 🙂
The pink Owl Hand Cream has a delicate wild rose scent that’s not plasticky at all. It really smells like roses and it’s very pleasant. But if roses aren’t your thing, you can also opt for one of the other variants. The Owl Hand Cream is available in several colours and they all have different scents: for instance, the gold owl houses a cream that will make your hands smell like creme brulee, while the cream inside the yellow owl has a lemon verbena scent.
The cream itself is white in colour and has a very lightweight consistency that sinks into the skin very quickly without leaving any greasy residue behind. Although it contains high concentrations of Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter), which has both moisturizing and antioxidant properties, and Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, which forms a protective barrier on the skin, thus helping to bind moisture in, the cream is not very moisturizing.
If your hands already are in good condition and you need a hand cream that will help keep them so, then you will like this. It will leave your hands soft, smooth and smelling of roses for a few hours. But if, instead, the harsh winter weather is taking its toll on your hands, leaving them dry, irritated and even cracking, this cute owl cream won’t really do much for you, apart from boosting your mood every time you look at it.
The owl shaped-packaging, which has a flat base, is actually quite small, which makes it quite easy to take around with you in your purse. It only contains 18ml of product, so it won’t last you very long, especially because it needs to be reapplied a couple of times throughout the day. But once you’ve finished the cream, you can wash the owl up and use it to store your own lotions, small rings or other trinkets you may have lying around.
Water, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Methylpropanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydrogenated Olive Oil, Olea Europea Fruit Oil, Olea Europea Fruit Unsaponifiables, Polysilicone-11, Dimethicone, Stearyl Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Parfum, C18-22 Hydroxyalkyl Hydroxypropyl Guar, Methylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral.
The Owl Hand Cream in Wild Rose is housed in an adorable pink owl-shaped packaging and has a delicate wild rose smell. Its lightweight consistency will help to keep hands that are already in good condition soft and smooth, but it won’t be moisturizing enough for dry skin. Although the cream won’t last you very long, the packaging could then be reused to store other lotions or little trinkets.
