What it does
Chromium Hydroxide Green is used as a colouring agent to give cosmetics a green hue.

Side effects
Chromium Hydroxide Green cannot be used in lip products.

I’d like to point out that it is also toxic to breathe in in large amounts

KN, thanks for your comment. That’s true but anything can be toxic in large amounts. Besides, that’s not a problem when it comes to cosmetics. So little is used, and you don’t really breathe it.

Interesting and informative as always! hmm do you know what they use to give green coloring to lip products then? I’m asking because of that beautiful LE mint balm from YSL, so wish that was available in the States…

Makeup Morsels, thanks. Usually D&C Green #6 is used in lip products. And what a shame that’s not available in the States!
