Name: Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadow in Edgy Emerald
Brand: Maybelline
Size: 4g
Price: $6.99
From Maybelline’s website:
Ink technology creates 24HR wear shadow for our most intense, long-lasting color saturation.
Cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps color vibrant.
What I liked:
- good colour payoff
- once set, it doesn’t budge nor crease for at least 8 hours
- can also be used as an eyeshadow base and eyeliner
What I didn’t like:
- dries really quickly so you need to blend it fast to avoid a patchy application
- if you don’t close the lid well, the eyeshadow will dry out
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know that cream eyeshadows and I don’t get along that well. Or better, I do try to get along with them, but they don’t seem to like me (and my oily lids) very much. Within a couple of hours, if not less, they start to say goodbye and migrate. What’s left on my lids is a creasy, hideous mess. But last year, my friend Janessa introduced me to a new line of cream eyeshadows that stays put on my lids for 8 hours, and without a primer too! I’m talking about Maybelline Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadows.
I’ve already reviewed Tough As Taupe a few months ago and today I’ll be showing you one of my favourite shades from the line: Edgy Emerald. Despite its name, I don’t really see much emerald green in this shade. Instead, it’s a delicate and shimmery sea-foam green. It’s the perfect shade for the summer, but I also love to wear it in winter to add a colourful pop of colour to my look that reminds me of the sunny season that awaits us once the cold weather is over.
Edgy Emerald has good but soft colour payoff. It applies almost opaque with one coat, but it never gets too vibrant. Because of the dry texture, you have to blend it really quickly to avoid it looking patchy. Oh, and did I mention that it can be used as an eyeshadow base and as an eyeliner too?
Available at: amazon, drugstore and ulta
Summary
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Eyeshadow in Edgy Emerald is a shimmery and delicate sea-foam green shade with good colour payoff that stays put for hours even without a primer. However, because of the dry texture and fast drying time, you have to blend it quickly to prevent a patchy application.

Davvero un colore strepitoso!
Fidya, si, è davvero molto bello.
I’m glad you thoroughly review products. You don’t just try it on once and say it was great. You really test it out
too bad it doesn’t get that vibrant and that’s important to know.
Janessa, even if doesn’t get that vibrant, it’s still a lovely, cheerful shade. Thanks a lot for sending it to me.
And thank you.
Aw you’re welcome.
