Name: Bath Gloves/ Guanti Doccia Esfolianti
Brand: The Body Shop
Size: one size fits all / taglia unica
Price: €4,00
From The Body Shop’s website:
Get even more of a lather with these textured bath mitts that exfoliate gently.
What I liked:
- stretchy, one size fits all / elastici, taglia unica
- easy to put on even when your hands are wet / facili da indossare anche con le mani bagnate
- they dry and go back to their original size quickly / si asciugano e ritornano alla loro misura originale velocemente
- if you use them gently, they leave skin soft, smooth and bright / se usati con delicatezza, lasciano la pelle soffice, levigata e luminosa
- ideal for lazy girls / ideali per ragazze pigre
- they come with a loop attached that makes it easy to hang them up in the shower / dotati di occhiello per appenderli facilmente alla doccia
What I didn’t like:
- they are scratchy and can irritate skin if you’re not careful / sono ruvidi e possono irritare la pelle se usati troppo vigorosamente
- can’t be used to exfoliate your face / non possono essere usati per esfoliare il viso
Your body, just like your face, needs to be exfoliated regularly to remove all the dead skin cells that are accumulating on its surface, making it feel rough and look dull. But a lot of us forgets to do it. It’s just an extra step in our routine that we don’t have time for in the morning and those little and gritty exfoliating particles in your scrub just end up all over your bath and shower…
The solution? Exfoliating bath gloves. They are a lazy girl’s dream. You just put them on and then wash your body as you normally do. They help create a nice lather and exfoliate your body as you wash it. The ones I’m using at the moment are from The Body Shop. They are a bright and festive red (although I believe there are other colours available), are made of nylon and are elastic fit, meaning they will suit most sizes, don’t feel tight and are easy to put on even when your hands are wet.
The gloves are quite abrasive and scratchy so you need to be careful when you use them. Don’t rub your skin really hard nor use them more than 2 or 3 times a week or they will irritate your skin. For the same reason, you should never attempt to use them on your face. Instead, just gently massage your body with them and you’ll get soft, smooth and bright skin. And once they’ve dried, they will go back to their original size. And you can also use the little loop attached to the gloves to hang them in your shower, ready for the next use.

Summary
The Body Shop Bath Gloves are made of stretchy nylon to suit every size, are easy to put on even when your hands are wet, and exfoliate skin, leaving it smooth and bright, as you wash it. However, the gloves can scratch and irritate skin if you’re not gentle enough and shouldn’t be used to exfoliate the face.

I love these kinds of scrubby gloves. I don’t use them often, but they’re good for my laziness.

Trisha, these are great for lazy girls, aren’t they?
I have an Olay scrubby glove that came in a gift set. I don’t use it that often though!

Eight, how do you like the Olay gloves? I think this type of gloves is great for when you’re in a rush as you just scrub your skin as you wash it.
I have the exact same one as you do! Yeah it is very scratchy so I have to be careful not to rub too hard (but it does get “seasoned” as you use it!
). Its cheap and it works! Mine is almost 3 years old and the rubber has lost its elasticity already, but it still works so I’m still not throwing it away!

Jenn´s last [type] ..Jenn Asks: Do you subconsciously buy stuff in the same colour?
Jenn, they are quite scratchy indeed but I find that if you’re careful, they work really well. And it’s good to know they can last for years, albeit with some wear and tear.
oh my god, I’ve never heard of these before but I LOVE this idea. I think these would be so great for my feet, gonna go see if my local Body Shop carries them

Makeup Morsels, do give them a try! They are very convenient and work really well. Just don’t rub too hard!
I have the coral color and what I do to make it less irritating or scratch is I drench them in water first or just put them on my hands and run it under water for a while or in the bath til it softens a little. And I use a shower gel for some slip (but mostly for the yummy scent).
Janessa, thanks for the tip! I will try it next time I shower.
I have the towel and love it (great to do the back) but I just might get the gloves since I think they are even easier to use. You’re right, one has to be gentle with this type of fabric, it’s quite easy to overdo it.
Icaria´s last [type] ..Brand Availability Frustration!
Icaria, I didn’t know there was a towel! That would be great for the back indeed. But I do love the gloves for their ease of use. With them, you can both wash and exfoliate at the same time.
