Beyu: be yourself. That’s the motto of the popular German brand. Beyu products come in a wide variety of colourful and neutral shades to allow anyone to express their personality. My first encounter with the brand happened last summer, when I was given their Biju Duo Eyeshadow in n.51 Dark Grey/Ice Blue Powder. Will we meet again?

Well, I don’t think I’ll buy any more of these duos, but I’m definitely curious to try more from the brand. The name of this eyeshadow duo is spot on: the paler shade is a light ice blue perfect for highlighting the browbone, and the darker shade is a pretty dark grey with blue undertones that adds colour and definition; both are chock-full of multi-coloured shimmers that make them sparkle like a bijoux.

The pigmentation is buildable: they provide a nice wash of colour on the lid that can easily be built up to your desired intensity. Using an eyeshadow primer will also help improve colour payoff, but on my slightly oily lids it wasn’t necessary to prevent creasing and fading as well. It holds up well on its own.

The texture is a bit powdery and not particularly soft to the touch, but very easy to blend. And overall, the result is very pretty. The shimmers aren’t too obvious and because the shades aren’t too intense, they can easily be used to create a soft smokey eye for the daytime. And while I do prefer something more pigmented, I think these eyeshadows are perfect for newbies who are just starting to get into makeup.

Beyu Biju Duo Eyeshadow in n.51 Dark Grey/Ice Blue Powder features two shimmering and buildable shades which, despite the powdery and not-too-soft texture, are easy to blend. In addition, they stay put, without creasing nor fading, for more than 8 hours.

I actually like sheer eyeshadows for blending and I’d rather have it powdery than hard-to-blend. I haven’t heard of this brand or at least I don’t remember it. I love being exposed all these new products I won’t otherwise see. Thing is, I am constantly learning of new collections in the US, mostly and it’s not as exciting to see a product I already know about than a foreign one.

:] I wish I could have eyeshadow from different galaxy made of some golden flower or magical plant! Imagine it heals crows feet whilst enhancing the eye. I do believe in fairies… I don’t find a reason not to.

Janessa, I agree. Learning about new products is always exciting, even though it can also be frustrating if you don’t have access to them.

And that would be so cool! Maybe one day they will invent an eyeshadow that can do just that, who knows. :)
