What it is
Dehydroacetic Acid is a white powder.

What it does
Dehydroacetic Acid is a preservative with mild antibacterial properties that’s most effective against fungi. It is more likely to prevent them from growing in products than killing them off though. It is usually used in less than 0.6% concentrations.

Side effects
Dehydroacetic Acid is generally considered to be safe.

Ahh! So many similar names for ingredients. At least some of them stick with me so I am learning. :]
I found out today, that baking powder is made of baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar.

Janessa, that can be quite confusing, can’t it? I wish ingredients had simpler names. Not only they would be easy to remember, but they wouldn’t scare people so much.
