Hello everyone,
and welcome to another week of random ramblings. Enjoy!
Bond No.9 New York Musk

Next month, Bond No.9 will be launching New York Musk, the latest scent in their New York Notes series. In this series, which is created mostly for fragrance connoisseurs, every scent is named around their key ingredient, “in order to explore and expand the blending possibilities”. New York Musk is an unisex scent that “displays its versatility when surrounded by contemporary fruit and spice accents. It opens with lightness and buoyancy: a blend of sparkling grapefruit flower, tart and tangy blackcurrant, and galbanum—a pine-like aromatic gum resin from Persia. Then come the midnotes, reinforcing that theme: Asian osmanthus flower, recalling peaches and apricots, combined with lemony-green lilies—yes, flowers that smell like fruits—while spiking this mix is spicy nutmeg. Musk comes into play in the base notes, as it usually does, surrounded by its lingering cohorts, those willing conspirators in seduction, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver.” The fragrance will be available in 100ml ($330) and 50ml ($260).
What I’m Reading Now

Sense And Sensibility by Jane Austen. This is one of my favourite books. Marianne Dashwood falls in love with the unsuitable Willoughby and makes her feeling about him all too obvious, which violates the conventions of the time and may leave her open to gossip. Her sister Elinor is the opposite. Instead than wearing her heart on her sleeve like her sister, she’s governed by sense and reason, and is capable of hiding her sentimental disappointments even from her family, to whom she’s very close. Although very different, the two sister will have to learn the same lesson and that’s that you can’t separate sense and sensibility. You need both in life and in love. The characters are both realistic and well-developed, the plot, although sometimes relying a bit too heavenly on coincidences, interesting and well-executed and the social commentary simply wonderful and witty. Overall, a very delightful read that I highly recommend to anyone.

1. Are there any celebrities that hail from your hometown?
Rappers Fabri Fibra and his brother Nesli (they’re not a duo by the way) hail from Senigallia. I have never met them though.
2. What do you look for in a perfect lipgloss?
My perfect lipgloss should be highly pigmented, super shiny, very moisturizing, non-sticky and last all day. Am I asking too much? lol.
3. How are you?
I’m just recovering from a cold, but feeling better now, thank you.
4. Chicken or turkey?
Chicken.
5. How do you like your name?
Honestly, I don’t like it at all. I just don’t think it has a very nice sound. My parents chose it because when I was born Giorgia was an uncommon name, but since then it’s become quite popular. I much prefer my second name, which is Valeria.
It’s your turn now!

Coolest perfume bottle ever and wow such good-to-know facts about you!!! Thanks for sharing//Azure
Azure, it’s a beautiful bottle indeed and you’re welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Gio! Should we call you Valeria? I’m glad you’re feeling better now!
1. Are there any celebrities that hail from your hometown?
None that I know of. When I lived there, it was us, a neighbour blocks away, and maybe two gas stations. Apparently, it’s changed since then.
2. What do you look for in a perfect lipgloss?
Non-sticky, non-runny, without a scent. I bought one that looked really nice this weekend, but it has this AWFUL dentist-y bubblegum scent. Ack!
3. How are you?
Doing okay, today. I’m writing about yokai. There’s no real equivalent in English… not really ghosts, but not demons, just… spirits? Japan was an animist society, and a lot of yokai were ‘born’ out of those beliefs.
4. Chicken or turkey?
Depends. Turkey on sandwiches or at hols, chicken any time else.
5. How do you like your name?
Meh. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t.

BebeTaian, thanks.
What a shame about the gloss, I can’t stand that kind of scent either.
And yokai sounds like a very fascinating subject!
1. Are there any celebrities that hail from your hometown? Yes, quite a few

2. What do you look for in a perfect lipgloss? it has to be thick but not sticky, feel nice on the lips and have a beautiful colour, of course.
3. How are you? sleepy))
4. Chicken or turkey? I eat chicken more often but I like both.
5. How do you like your name? I think it’s the best name but I did not like it as a child lol

Marina, I think you have a lovely name.
Valeria is such a beautiful name!
At first I didn’t like the commonness of my name. While it still can be a bit of a problem sometimes (it’s like Jane Smith) – I have to double check every medical record or bill to make sure it’s me and not one of the 100 girls with the same name and surname – I’ve grown used to it.
I wanted to share a link with you: Janet Stephens, she does historic hairstyles. She might have something you find useful for your series on beautification history

Ana, names too common can be a nuisance sometimes but I’m glad you like yours.
My name is not common at all, but there’s another girl that’s named just like me (she’s a distant relative actually) and I’ve been mistaken for her a couple of times, which was a bit of a hassle really. But I couldn’t imagine having to double check everything all the time..
And thank you so much for the link. Sounds fascinating! I’ll go check it now!
I’ve smelled some of Bond No.9′s perfumes and I like a few of them but they’re so expensive I’ll have to save up for them if I ever wanted one.
I really like that name! Giorgia Valeria sound really nice together. I kind of like my name. I always thought it was special until high school when I met two other people who had my name (one with the exact spelling and one different).
I will read Sense and Sensibility after I finish Pride and Prejudice! I’ve read a little bit into it and it’s witty :].
1. Yup, but I don’t remember their names. I know what they do though. One is a singer now, another an Olympic ice skater, two actors.
2. Moisturizing, shiny, opaque, doesn’t show or settle into lip lines, lasts through meals, and isn’t sticky and doesn’t transfer.
3. I hope you get better quickly. I think a post on favorite foods to eat while sick would be neat but that’s just an idea.
4. Chicken!
5. Hi Valeria.
Janessa, I agree about Bond n.9. Lovely scents, but so pricey!
I’m so glad you like Pride and Prejudice. It’s very witty indeed and it only gets better as the story progresses.
I think Janessa is a very pretty name.
Love Pride & Prejudice. In fact I’m trying to have my daughter read it. Your name, love it as well. There aren’t many Giorgia where I live & Gio is a great nickname!
1. Among others Christopher Plummer, Céline Dion to name only those.

2. Perfection!
3. Tired.
4. Chicken unless it’s Christmas & even then I’m not too fond of it.
5. I love my name. Hélène (Helen if you say it à la English). It’s a well known name but there aren’t that many of us which is quite nice.
Icaria´s last [type] ..OMG Superstorm Sandy brought down MUA!
Icaria, I hope you’ll succeed. Pride & Prejudice is a great book and I’m sure your daughter will love it too.
Thanks. I like Gio, I think it’s cute. It’s just my whole name that I dislike.
And I really love your name, it’s beautiful.
1. Are there any celebrities that hail from your hometown?
Slade – famous pop group from the seventies, best known in the UK for the perennial “So Here it is, Merry Christmas”, that is about to break out in every lift/shop in the UK for the festive season!
2. What do you look for in a perfect lipgloss?
Not keen on lipgloss at all – quite like Le Metier de Beaute ones that are almost lipstick.
3. How are you?
Good, though a week late
4. Chicken or turkey?
Chicken definitely. Am going off meat altogether at the moment. Nothing ethical/health related, just not eating much meat.
5. How do you like your name?
Do you know, I LOVE it! I hated it when growing up, but now I love it. There aren’t may other Vivienne’s around, and I actually think it suits my married name better than my maiden name.

Viv, Vivienne is a lovely and elegant name.
