The lovely Vanessa has written another guest post for us. This time she’s gonna teach us how to whiten our teeth naturally. Enjoy!
How To Brighten, Lighten, and Whiten Your Teeth Naturally
Our smile is one of the first things someone notices about us, and it can say so much about your oral and general health. So what is a girl to do when her pearly whites aren’t looking so…well…pearly white?
You whiten them, obviously!
No longer will your coffee, red wine, soda pop, sugar, or citrus fruit habit take a toll on your teeth. Starting today you can take the first step towards whitening your teeth and perfecting that radiant smile of yours. I’m happy dancing just thinking about it!
Now of course you ladies have a few options: you could pay your dentist hundreds of dollars to whiten your teeth, you could spend big money in your nearest pharmacy buying whitening kits, OR you could whiten your teeth at home for, oh, 50 cents per treatment!
I don’t know about you, but I like the 50 cents option.
So how does one whiten their teeth at-home for pennies per treatment? You keep it au naturale baby!
What You Need
What makes this treatment so hard to resist is not just the price point, but the fact that it only requires two ingredients. Yes, TWO!
In a small bowl, combine:
2 chopped strawberries
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
That’s it! Aren’t you kind of wondering right now why you haven’t been using this treatment all along? Yeah, I thought the same thing.
How To Whiten Your Teeth Naturally
Once you have ‘all’ of your ingredients set to go, simply:
mash together your mixture until you have created a paste that is thick enough to stick to your toothbrush
using a new toothbrush, dip the bristles into your mixture and start scrubbing your teeth
continue to scrub your teeth for up to 2 minutes
rinse your mouth thoroughly
be amazed at how sparkly and clean your smile looks after only a few treatments
Thanks to the salicylic acid content found in strawberries, this paste should help to scrub away any surface stains. While the malic acid also found in strawberries helps to increase the production of saliva, helping to further wash away any food or bacteria that can get caught in our teeth.
But it’s not just the strawberries who are doing all the hard work. Oh no! The baking soda in this treatment works to penetrate deep into the enamel of your teeth and help to erase stubborn stains.
What a powerhouse whitening duo!
Now I should mention that when you first start to use this paste the abrasive qualities of the baking soda might slightly irritate your gums, but if you stick to only using this treatment once a day, you should be fine and the irritation should subside after a few brushes.
And there you have it. A quick, easy, and natural solution to whitening your teeth that only costs pennies per treatment! Now you have no excuse for those pearly whites to be anything but pearly white!

I am SO trying this!
Thanks, Vanessa! I found the picture a bit funny in a good way :].
Janessa, I hope you’ll like it. Let me know how it goes.
Doesn’t baking soda damage tooth enamel? It’s what been keeping me from using it.
Lily, baking soda is an abrasive so it could damage tooth enamel if used too often or if you rub it too hard. But if you’re careful, nothing bad should happen.
