Product Review: EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm

Name: Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm
Brand: EOS
Size: 7g
Price: $3.29

From the EOS’ website:
To keep your lips looking and feeling healthy, we created this 95% organic, 100% natural organic lip balm that’s petrolatum & paraben free, just like you. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

What I liked:
– non-sticky texture, glides on smoothly
– gives lips a subtle, lovely shine
– pretty and innovative packaging, fits the contours of the lips nicely
– divine sweet strawberry scent
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– if you have dry lips, this isn’t moisturizing enough for you
– needs to be reapplied often throughout the day

EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm is one of those products that looks better than it performs. But I still fell in love with it. Just look at it. It is pink! And it is shaped like an egg! Isn’t that absolutely adorable? The unique packaging may be somewhat bulky, but it makes application a breeze, and fits nicely the contours of my lips.

And it smells divine! More than strawberry sorbet, it reminds me of the strawberry ice cream my mom used to buy me when I was little. In fact, I can’t help but reminisce about my childhood every time I use it. It is also very sweet, but not nauseatingly so. It’s just a lovely scent.

The non-sticky texture is neither too thin nor too thick and glides well on the lips, leaving behind a subtle shine that looks really pretty. Unfortunately, despite being 95% organic and 100% natural and full of beneficial and moisturizing oils such as Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil, and Shea Butter, this lip balm isn’t very moisturizing.

It leaves my lips soft and smooth, but only for a couple of hours. Then, it’s time to apply another layer. Janessa, the lovely lady who gave it to me, warned me about this so I can’t say that I was that disappointed about it. My lips are in good condition anyway so this lip balm is moisturizing enough for me, but if yours are dry and chapped then you may have to apply it a lot more often so you’d better opt for something more hydrating instead.

Ingredients:
Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf / Steam Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Anuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Limonene, Linalool. *Organic.

Available at: amazon, ulta and walgreens

Summary
Although EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm is not particularly moisturizing and needs to be applied every two hours, I can’t help but love it for its lovely, non-sticky, slightly shiny texture, cool packaging and gorgeous strawberry scent. I would only recommend it to women whose lips are already in good condition though.

  1. Aw, Gio! Thank you for mentioning me again. I love this scent too, it smells delicious!
:] Expect something within the next two weeks (considering how awfully long it took for my last package to arrive).
    :D

    • Janessa, you’re welcome and thank you for sending it to me. Love the scent!

Aww thank you so much hun. You’re too good to me. :) And yeah, the Italian postal service is very slow..

      • No, I bet the delays come from USPS! They’re so so slow and often ship items to the wrong location. Hopefully it arrives faster this time :].

        • USPS sounds very similar to our postal service lol! Oh well, as long as everything arrives safely, I don’t care about the delay… much. And thanks again hun. :)

  2. Nice review!
Though aren’t a lot of lip balms not lasting, i need to touch up mine a lot of times through the day.
And i hope the scent is close to real strawberries, because there is this artificiell smell of strawberries that just smells plastic, but if you say it’s like sorbet, then maybe this one is good!!!!/Azure
