Product Review: Kiko Clean & Tone Cleansing Milk & Tonic Lotion

Name: Clean & Tone
Brand: Kiko
Size: 200ml
Price: €5,90

From Kiko’s website:
Gently removes every trace of make up, impurities and sebaceous secretions, leaving skin fresh and velvety.

What I liked:
- cleanses skin and removes makeup and dirt well
- gentle, leaves skin soft
- the packaging
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t do anything as a toner

Although I love Kiko products, I hate shopping at their store. They have the pushiest SAs I’ve ever met. As soon as you set foot inside the door, they jump on you and try to sell you everything that’s in the shop. Even if you tell them you just want to browse around, they will simply step aside and, the moment you pick something up, resume their attack. And if the shop is so busy you’re miraculously left alone, don’t worry. They will try to sell you something more at checkout. Argh!

Telling them firmly but politely to stop doesn’t seem to help, so I only go there when I really need something. Like a few weeks ago when my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser ran out before the new tube had arrived (oh how I wish Liz Earle had a shop here!). I wanted something cheap to use in the meantime and my choice fell on Kiko Clean & Tone, a creamy but lightweight cleanser that doubles up as a toner.

Now, as a toner, it doesn’t really do anything, probably because it stays on the skin only for a few minutes before being rinsed off. But as a cleanser, it is pretty good. I use it in the morning to cleanse my skin and in the evening to take off my makeup and it does an excellent job at quickly removing every trace of it, together with dirt and other impurities. Yet, it is very gentle on the skin and leaves it feeling soft.

And it smells lovely too. It has a milky floral scent that’s quite subtle and disappears soon. I also like the packaging. The white tube is really sleek and practical. It has a small opening, so it will release only the amount of product you need for each application, which isn’t much. As a result, the tube will last you for a good while.

Summary
Kiko Clean & Tone Cleansing Milk & Tonic Lotion is a lightweight cleanser that effectively but gently removes all traces of dirt, makeup and other impurities, leaving skin feeling soft. However, as a toner, it doesn’t really do anything.

  1. Aw, I hate pushy SA’s too. This sounds like a great product :] The packaging isn’t bulky either and looks pretty nice.

    • Janessa, pushy SAs really make you never want to shop there again, don’t they?

It is a great cleanser indeed and nicely-packaged too. :)
