Product Review: Tesori D’Oriente Kashmir Sandalwood And Vetiver Shower Cream

Name: Kashmir Sandalwood And Vetiver Shower Cream
Brand: Tesori D’Oriente
Size: 250ml
Price: €2,49

From the packaging:
The delicate freshness of vetiver blends with the warm, ambered notes of Kashmir sandalwood, giving birth to a precious, intense and seductive perfume. Formulated with natural ingredients, it gently cleanses, refreshes and tones the skin, enveloping the body in a soft caress.

What I liked:
- cleanses skin well
- leaves skin soft
- wonderful woody oriental scent
- the pretty tube comes with a chain so you can easily hang it in the shower
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- some women may find this particular scent too masculine
- the cap doesn’t always close well

Tesori D’Oriente is one of my favourite bath and body care brands. The reason? Their fragrances. All the brand’s lines are infused with a different heady oriental scent that will transport you into the magical and fascinating world of the Far East with its busy markets, mysterious rituals, exotic spices and richly fragranced flowers. I spent ages in the shop trying to decide which scent to try first. Cardamom and Neroli or Myhrr? Or maybe something floral like Orchid?

In the end, I settled for a woody oriental scent, Kashmir Sandalwood and Vetiver. The scent is absolutely gorgeous, intense and sensual. The vetiver is quite delicate, somewhat fresh, with just a hint of citrus and ginger, and beautifully blends with the warmer, ambery scent of Kashmir Sandalwood. It wraps you in a warm, intoxicating and invigorating embrace that lingers on your skin all day long.

The scent is unisex although it leans a bit more on the masculine end of the spectrum. It can still be easily worn by women too. Those who love to steal their men’s cologne will fall in love with it, but if you’re the type who prefers dainty, feminine and sweet scents, then this one is not for you. If you’re interested, though, you should hurry because I’m not sure it will be available for long.

When I checked out their website earlier today, I couldn’t find the Kashmir Sandalwood And Vetiver line listed anywhere, but you should still be able to find it in shops. I picked up mine at Smoll and there were still lots of tubes left on the shelf. Oh, and isn’t the black tube decorated with green leaves really pretty, by the way? There’s also a chain attached at the end of it so that you can easily hang it in the shower. However, the cap doesn’t close that well. Maybe I just got a defective one but in any case, be careful if you decide to travel with it.

I pretty much told you everything about this shower cream but the most important thing, and that’s how it performs. The answer? Really well. The shower cream is white in colour and its consistency is neither too liquidy nor too thick. It foams well and effectively but gently cleanses skin leaving it soft and smelling gorgeous! Now, I can’t wait to try all the other scents!

Summary
Tesori D’Oriente Kashmir Sandalwood And Vetiver Shower Cream is a gentle but effective shower cream that leaves skin clean, soft and smelling gorgeous. However, the beautiful sandalwood and vetiver scent, which lingers all day, can be too masculine for some women. The tube is pretty and can be easily hanged in the shower, but the cap doesn’t always close well.

  1. Oh yes that vetiver scent is hard to not find masculine! I have a perfume from lush calles breath of god with a lot of vetiver oil in, and on some people it doesn’t turn out to be so smokey scented, but on me it’s like i’ve been making too much whiskey haha! Maybe i’m very masculine haha!!
But that’s just hte taste right! I hope you’ll like your shower gel!!!/Azure

    • Azure lol. I love masculine scents and I’m lucky that they smell good on me. But if vetiver doesn’t agree with your body chemistry, the effect can be really bad.

    • Marina, I’ve always been attracted by masculine scents and this one is really gorgeous. And it can be easily worn by most women too. I’m not sure of this brand is available outside of Italy, but if you can find it, you should give this line a go.

  2. The packaging makes it look potentially expensive. The design isn’t bright and of course the brand name in Italian? (sorry if I am wrong :o) makes it a lot fancier to us Americans. The brand seems so cool and I’m looking forward to see what scents you like best. :]

    • Janessa, it looks expensive indeed but it isn’t. Yes, the name is in Italian and it means Oriental Treasures. The packaging is really fancy and their products all have these beautiful exotic scents. It will take me a while but I plan to try them all lol. :)
