Name: Nail Polish in Rise And Shine
Brand: Sinful Colors
Size: 15ml
Price: €4,90

What I liked:
- good color payoff
- nice formula, easy to work with, no streaks
- longlasting
- the packaging
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- the satiny, almost matte finish, makes this shade look kinda flat

Rise And Shine, morning glory! And it was a glorious morning indeed when I stepped into my local beauty store to stock up on some essentials and came across a brand new display of Sinful Colors polishes. Finally the brand has landed in Italy and I spent a good 15 minutes oohing and aahing at all the pretty shades before picking up Rise And Shine.

It is a beautiful and bright turquoise that leans more green, infused with green shimmers, that dries to a satin finish. I’m not sure I love this shade, though. It is absolutely stunning how the shimmers shine when the light hits them, but the rest of the time, it looks kinda flat, almost matte. Of course, if you don’t like the dull finish, you can always apply a shiny top coat on top of it, but I was hoping it’d be brighter on its own so I wouldn’t have to, you know?

Especially because you don’t need to use a top coat to protect the color and make it last longer. Without one, it lasted a whole week with only a small tiny chip! I am very hard on my nails and had never come across a nail polish that lasted that long on me on its own! In the end, I just decided to take it off cos I got bored of wearing the same color for so long on my nails lol.

The formula is a pleasure to work with too: pigmented, not too thick but not too thin either, it delivers an opaque coverage, free of streaks and bubbles, in just two coats. And it dries sooo fast! I often ruin my manicures with dents and imprints soon after I apply them because I can’t keep my hands still for more than 10 minutes, but this one has already dried by then! Overall, I love the Sinful Color polishes and although this shade wasn’t a hit with me, I definitely plan to purchase more!

Available at: Amazon and Walgreens

Summary
Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Rise And Shine is a bright turquoise/green shade with green shimmers that dries to a quite dull finish. However, the formula is easy to work with, dries fast and lasts a whole week even without a top coat!

Rating: 4/5

Yay! You finally get to try Sinful Colors!

I had the same reaction to this color that you did. As nice as the shade is, I didn’t like the finish. It’s weird. Don’t let this get you down, though. Most of this brand is awesome.

Trisha, the finish is very disappointing indeed. It’s just so different from what I expected and makes the shade so.. dull. I really liked the formula though so I’ll definitely try more shades. Any recommendations?

That colour is simply gorgeous!
I’m trying a new thing out tonight- nail polish on tape.
WE’ll see how that goes lol!

Phlox, the color is pretty, but I find the finish quite weird and dull.

And that sounds really intriguing, can’t wait to see how it turns out. :)

Xin, I agree. It’s such a shame the finish is so dull!

It’s expensive where you live! It’s $1.99 regular price and sometimes $1. :o I like some of their colors but their polishes are hit and miss. At least in my experiences.

Janessa, yes, cosmetics are really expensive in Europe. They’re still some of the least expensive polishes you can find it here though.

I see. What are your favourites? :)

I don’t know the names on top of my head but I’ll look up some right now! Mint Apple, Rich in Heart, Vacation Time, Secret Admirer.
I just look up the best reviewed ones and pick them out from there and I really like the ones I mentioned above. The reason why I say they’re hit and miss is because I used to pick them out based on color and some were good and some weren’t. I don’t have my nail polish collection on me so I can’t recommend any others :[

Janessa, thanks for your recommendation. I picked this one out based on colour too and it was a disappointment. I’ll check out the ones you mentioned next time I go to the shop. :)

Marina, it is. I’m not a big fan of the finish though.
