Pineapple Extract (Ananas sativus fruit extract) is an extract derived from pineapple.
What it does
Pineapple Extract is an exfoliant: it contains bromelain, an enzyme that can dissolve the “glue” that holds skin cells together thus allowing them to slough off.
The same enzyme also gives pineapple extract its inflammatory properties.
Side effects
Pineapple Extract can be irritating.
