Name: Mini Color in Lamé Gold
Brand: Mavala
Size: 5ml
Price: €5.40

From Mavala’s website:
The” MINI’s” – small gold-topped bottle – relies on a simple yet genious idea. Nail polish, regardless of the quality, tends to dry out sooner or later, especially when the bottle is frequently opened. The Mavala “MINI’s” have been designed to avoid this inconvenience.

What I liked:
- good color payoff
- nice formula, easy to work with, no streaks
- dries fast
- longlasting
- the packaging

What I didn’t like:
- if you don’t like mini nail polishes, this isn’t for you

Mavala Mini Color Nail polishes are nice little gems. Literally. The cute bottles are very small and only contain 5ml of product. And while some people may not like mini-sized nail polishes like this, I happen to love them. Why? Because I can never finish a whole bottle of nail polish and I have had to throw away bottles that were still half-full because the formula had gone bad. Mini nail polishes instead, are easier to finish and also to travel with.

These nail polishes are available in about 200 shades!, so everyone will be able to find a few they will like. The one I have is called Lamé Gold and, in the bottle, it looks like a very boring and dull shade. Once applied, you get a soft gold shade infused with subtle pink glitters that are visible only when the light hits them (sadly my stupid camera wouldn’t capture them :( ) Because the glitters aren’t really obvious for most of the time, this is a very wearable shade that could be worn at the office too.

The formula is quite thin (and so is the brush) but not watery at all and applies easily without streaks. It requires two coats for a completely opaque coverage although you may wanna apply a third to even everything out. It dries fast too and lasts about 4 days without chipping if you don’t use a top coat. Considering how hard I am on my nails, I think that’s quite impressive!

Summary
Mavala Mini Color in Lamé Gold is a soft and wearable gold infused with pink glitters which make nails subtly but beautifully sparkle when hit by sunlight. The thin brush and formula make application really easy, and at least two coats are required for opaque coverage. The polish is fast-drying and longlasting too. The cute, little bottle contains only 5ml of product, which may disappoint some people, but I like it as I can never finish a full size bottle anyway.

Rating: 4/5

I love Mavala polishes! Small and nice and the variety of colors.

I always look out for the sets in Debenhams which go on sale for half price often.
And there are many mag freebies which give out Mavala polish from time to time.

Lame Gold is a beautiful color. Definitely great for the office.

Vonvon, their polishes are little gems and I’m glad you have so many chances of getting them at a cheaper price in the UK.

Lame Gold is a very pretty and wearable gold indeed.

I’m definitely with you on never finishing nail polishes! Sometimes I wish luxury brands would release a mini size too, at a reduced price. I’m still iffy on paying $20+ on a polish, even though I really loved Chanel Peridot, for example. But if it was a tiny bottle, I might actually consider paying half the price for it. Not like I’m going to use it up!

Makeup Morsels, I agree with you. If you’re gonna spend that much money, then you want to be sure that you’ll be able to use a lot of the product before it expires and that’s so hard to do with nail polishes. It’d be great if expensive brands released mini sizes at a more affordable price.

I like minis for the same reason! Variety is fun and I have almost never used up a polish.
