– the packaging

Last month, I reviewed one of my favourite facial masques, Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Masque. The mask, with its delicious chocolate scent, is a wonderful little treat for skin and prompted me to try other products from this brand. After much consideration, I settled on the Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Face Mask, which has a yummy scent of mango and raspberry that’s quite strong but not overpowering and just makes you want to eat the mask but obviously you can’t. lol.

The mask is off-white, creamy in color and has quite a thick consistency that’s easy to apply. After that, you need to sit back and relax for the next 15 minutes while the mask does it job. Then, it’s time to take it off. At this point the mask has hardened and removing it takes a few minutes and can be a bit messy. Once I washed it all off, I noticed that my skin was soft and smooth (although not as much as it usually is after I use the chocolate mask), clean and fresh. The Kaolin and Bentonite, two types of clays with absorbent properties but that can be drying, also absorbed excess oil, keeping the shine at bay for a few hours.

Because of it, I would recommend it to those with oily skin while those with dry skin will probably find it too drying for their skin type. My skin is combination and while it worked really well on my oily t-zone, my cheeks felt a bit dry. I was also a bit disappointed by this mask. While it does its job, it wasn’t as moisturizing as the chocolate mask is and didn’t give me the pretty subtle glow I get after using that same mask either. I guess my expectations were just a bit too high as the chocolate mask would be HG material if it weren’t for the packaging, and I was hoping this would be too.

The mask comes in a sachet that is easy to open and contains a very generous amount of product, which is both good and bad. Good because you’ll get two or three uses out of it. Bad because the packaging is not resealable so you have to be careful to close it really well or pour what’s the left in the sachet in a jar (which is what I now do) or it’ll go back before you can use it again. Because of this, I would much prefer it if the mask came in a tube.

Available at: amazon UK, ulta and walgreens

Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Face Mask has a thick consistency that applies easily and, once rinsed off, leaves skin smooth and clean. It also helps to absorb excess oil and smells delicious. However, it can be drying for those with dry skin, and it can be messy to remove. And the packaging, which contains a lot of product, isn’t practical.

Xin, I haven’t tried the heating one yet. That’ll be next on my list, sounds fun. :) I like the brand but some masks are definitely better than others and I couldn’t live without the chocolate one lol. It’s too yummy. :)

And I had to check that out. Yep, they have a mask for boobs. That’s.. weird lol.
