Name: Kohl Eyeliner in Kiwi
Brand: Prestige Cosmetics
Size: 1.1g
Price: €5,30

From Prestige’s website:
Easy one stroke application glides on smoothly without tugging or pulling.

What I liked:
- available in lots of beautiful shades
- creamy texture, glides on smoothly
- pigmented
- doesn’t irritate eyes
- longlasting
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- smudges without a primer
- dries up within a few months

Last Monday, I talked about some of my favourite eyeliners: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. However, they are expensive (but well worth the money if you can afford them!) so today I thought I’d talk about a cheaper alternative: Prestige Kohl Eyeliners. For the first few months, they are almost as good.

Prestige Kohl Eyeliners are available in a wide variety of shades. The one I have is Kiwi, a beautiful olive green shade that’s very pigmented. It has a very soft and creamy texture that glides on smoothly on the eyes without tugging and is opaque in just one coat. It is also easy to blend for a smokier look. However, I noticed that the texture of the eyeliner had dried up within a few months and although it still applies without tugging nor scratching skin, it’s not as creamy and doesn’t glide on as easily as it used to. Bummer!

If you’re interested in these eyeliners (and they work really well for the first few months), I highly recommend you buy a shade that you’re gonna use everyday so you’ll get the most out of it before it starts to go bad. You also need to wear an eyeshadow primer with it or it’ll smudge after a few hours, especially if you have oily lids. With a base, though, it lasts the entire day. It also doesn’t irritate eyes, although I haven’t tried it on the waterline as the packaging doesn’t say it can be used there.

Available at: Ulta.com

Summary
Prestige Kohl Eyeliner in Kiwi has a creamy texture that glides on smoothly on the lids and great color payoff. And with a primer, it lasts the entire day without smudging. However, the texture dries up within a few months.

Rating: 3.5/5

Nice Colour! But too bad that it smudges and it dries out. Strange that an eye kohl can dry out. I have had my Stila Kajaleye liners for a long time and they are still ok. In fact, I have just started using them again to line my eyes, waterline, and smudge it as shadow.

Vonvon, that’s the first time it happened to me and I was surprised too. But the texture definitely did change and not for the better. What a shame!

Thanks for the review! NYX has a similar colour, and it’s waterproof. You might want to try it.

Vonnie, I haven’t tried it on the waterline but I doubt it will last long there. If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s best to skip indeed.

Good that it lasts well with a primer, bad that it dries up. I wonder why? That olive shade does look pretty!

Dee, it’s weird, isn’t it? I couldn’t believe it at first but the texture definitely changes overtime. It’s still usable but it’s such a bummer that it doesn’t remain as creamy as when you first purchase it.

I feel like Prestige really is “Hit or Miss.” They’re definitely not the best brand in the world, that’s for sure.

Trisha, I agree with you. At first, I really thought I had found a little gem as it was so creamy. What a shame it dries up overtime.

I’ve tried a Prestige e/liner before and you’re right, it smudges (even with a primer). It also made my lids feel rather heavy although I don’t apply much. Good thing I only bought one to try out and didn’t get more colours.

Lyn, what a shame it smudges on you even with a primer! And that’s a good thing indeed. I was thinking of getting more colors but then it dried up on me and thought.. better not lol.
