Name: The Berry Collection
Brand: Sleek Makeup
Size: Blush 8g, True Color Lipstick 3.5g, Kohl pencil 4.2g
Price: £9.99

From Sleek Makeup’s website:
Get berrylicious this Christmas with this three piece collection featuring rich, sultry berry tones. Add a flush of warmth to your cheeks with Fenberry blush, for the perfect wash of crimson rose. Flattering festive eyes will be yours with Kohl Pencil in Mossberry, a deep burgundy chunky liner that is easily smudged for a cloud of berry-hued smokiness around the eye. Finally finish the look with True Colour lipstick in Cranberry, a matte mulled wine toned shade that will add a kick of spiciness to your party look!

What I liked:
- all products have a matte finish
- all products have good color payoff
- all products apply and blend easily
- the blush provides a nice flush to cheeks and can be used for contouring too
- all the products are longlasting
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- kohl pencil is hard to pull off
- lipstick is not moisturizing and sets into fine lines

For the holidays, Sleek Makeup has released The Berry Collection, a wonderful set that features three full-size products in festive berry-toned shades and retails at only £9.99! The products included are the True Color Lipstick in Cranberry, the Kohl Pencil in Mossberry and the Blush in Fenberry. Let’s see how they perform, shall we?

My favourite item in this set is the Blush in Fenberry. It’s a rosy red with a hint of brown and a matte finish. Just like all Sleek Makeup Blushes, Fenberry too is very pigmented and so it needs to be applied with a very light hand and a fluffy brush. Easy to apply and blend, it gives cheeks a pretty and natural flush and, when used on the cheekbones, provides a slight contouring, slimming effect. On my dry cheeks, it lasts for the entire day.

The True Color Lipstick in Cranberry is a deep berry shade with pink undertones and a matte finish. It looks very dark and daring in the tube, but it’s quite wearable once applied on the lips. Like most matte lipsticks, Cranberry doesn’t have a very creamy and moisturizing texture (although it glides easily on the lips) and can settle into fine lines so I recommend you exfoliate and moisturize your lips before you apply it. Color payoff is excellent: it is opaque in just one coat and once on, it lasts for hours on end or until you have a proper meal, and leaves a stain once it wears off.

The Kohl Pencil in Mossberry is a very daring addition to this set imo, simply because it’s a color that a lot of  people won’t be able to pull off. It’s a burgundy shade with purple undertones and a matte finish and sadly it doesn’t suit me at all. It actually makes me look bruised, which is not a nice look, but I think it’ll look much better on ladies with darker skintones. The texture is not very soft but not too dry and hard either and it goes on smoothly. It can be used as an eyeliner or you can smudge it to create a smokey eye, but in this case, you’ll have to use a primer underneath to avoid creasing. But as an eyeliner, it lasts all day on me even without a primer and the color payoff’s great too.

Overall, I love this set. It’s perfect for the holidays and I think it would make a wonderful Christmas gift for a friend and a lovely treat for yourself.

Available at: sleekmakeup.com and Superdrug stores throughout the UK

Summary
Sleek Makeup The Berry Collection contains 3 full size products – True Color Lipstick in Cranberry, Blush in Fenberry and Kohl Pencil in Mossberry – in festive berry shades with a matte finish. All the products are pigmented, longlasting and apply and blend easily. The blush can be used both to add a nice flush to cheeks and to contour while the kohl pencil as an eyeliner or smudged to create a smoky look. However, the kohl pencil is hard to pull off and won’t suit ladies with pale skintones and the lipstick, because of the matte finish, isn’t moisturizing and can settle into fine lines if you don’t apply lip balm beforehand.

I love matte blushes. I can definitely see that color used as a contour. Shame that the lipstick settles into fine lines, looks lovely on your lips!

Dee, the blush is really beautiful and versatile. Definitely the best piece in the set. It’s a shame indeed about the lipstick but then that’s a common problem with lippies with a matte finish. You just need to make sure your lips are well prepped before application.

Vonvon, it is a lovely set, especially for those who love bold shades. The Kohl pencil is hard to pull off but the set is worth getting for the other two products, they work really well. Unfortunately, I don’t think they are available separately although it would be great if they were. I will do a look with this collection and post it soon so you can see how the products look when used together. :)

The blush is lovely, is my favourite item of this set. The pencil doesn’t suit dark eyes and matte lipsticks don’t look pretty on me. :(

La Bisbetica, the blush is my favourite item too. It looks quite natural and is easy to wear. The other two items are harder to pull off, especially the kohl pencil.

The lipstick is very lovely, expecially for special occasions. But I have a similiar shade in my collcetion, so it’s not a must. As for the eyeliner, I have to say that it looks much more like a lipliner to me. Have you tried it for that purpose as well? Anyhow, it’s rather sad that Sleek haven’t released another interesting eyeshadow palette. :-(

Mylanqolia, I would have loved a new palette too, but this kit is lovely as well. The Kohl liner was a very daring choice. It looks like a lip liner indeed, but I haven’t tried that way. I don’t really use lip liners much anyway.
