Name: Brow Kit in Light
Brand: Sleek Makeup
Size: 4g
Price: 7.99

From Sleek Makeup’s website:
Complete with all the tools you’ll ever need for brows that flatter and frame your face, choose from two shades in light or dark to compliment your natural colouring. Begin by using the mini tweezers to remove any stray hairs for a smooth and defined result. Using the handy hard angled brush, apply the brow wax along the natural shape of your brow to create the ideal arch. Next, use the setting powder to set the wax and to fill in any sparse areas. All packaged in one handbag sized kit, your brows need never stray away!

What I liked:
- contains all you need to groom your brows
- both the shaping wax and the setting powder have good color payoff and apply smoothly
- the shaping wax tames unruly hair well
- the setting powder is good at filling in the gaps and makes the wax last all day
- the brushes, despite the small size, do a good job
- the end result looks natural
- travel-friendly
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- the tweezers can’t grasp fine hair
- the shaping wax doesn’t last all day on its own

Eyebrows may not seem an important part of your beauty routine, but they can actually make or break a look. Well-shaped brows frame the face, making you look polished and beautiful. But not everyone is gifted with beautifully defined brows. To help you achieve just that, Sleek Makeup has recently released a Brow Kit, which contains everything you need to groom your brows: a shaping wax, a setting powder, an angled brush, a blending brush and tweezers. The Brow Kit is available in two versions: Light and Dark. I got the Light one, which I was very happy about, as the shades are perfect for me. So, how well does the kit work?

First, you need to remove all the stray hairs with the tweezers provided. However, this is not easy as the tweezers are very small, feel tight and just aren’t pointy enough to grasp and pluck very fine hair. You’ll only be able to remove the bigger ones and, for the others, you’ll have to use your own tweezers. But the tweezers are the only thing I dislike about this handy set. Everything else, included the tiny brushes, does its job very well.

The shaping wax is a warm and pigmented chocolate brown shade with a creamy texture. It applies smoothly, taming unruly hair and keeping it in place. However, unless you apply the setting powder on top of it, it won’t last all day on its own. I apply it with the angled brush, which, despite the very small size, does a good job at filling it and shaping the brows. The bristles, just like those of the blending brush, aren’t the softest, but they don’t scratch skin either.

Next, I apply the setting powder with the blending brush. This is a lighter brown shade with a powdery finish. This too has good color payoff, applies easily and fills in the gaps. It also ensures the wax stays in place for the whole day. The result? Natural-looking, nicely-shaped brows. Please note that in the picture above I applied a bigger amount of product than I normally use because I was afraid it wouldn’t shop up well in pictures otherwise. I know there are still a few minor stray hair as well, but those are the ones the tweezers couldn’t grasp and remove. Just use your own to pluck them.

The Brow Kit is packaged in a black case which looks sleek and professional. Its handbag size makes it easy to carry it around with you and, inside, you’ll also find a mirror should you need to do any touch-ups on-the-go. Overall, this is a great kit for all those who want defined, well-shaped brows without breaking the bank. Like all Sleek Makeup products, this kit too is very affordable and retails at only £7.99.

Summary
Sleek Makeup Brow Kit contains everything you need to groom your eyebrows: shaping wax, setting powder (both of which have good color payoff), angled brush, blending brush and mini tweezers. The wax tames unruly hair by keeping them in place, giving them a nice shape and definition, while the setting powder makes them fuller and ensures that the results, which are very natural, will last all day. The two mini brushes do their jobs well but the mini tweezers can’t pluck very fine hair.

That price is really awesome. It’s too bad about the tweezers, though…

Trisha, if the tweezers had worked, then this kit would have been perfect. But I don’t mind too much as everything else works really well.

Tammy, yes, I think it would last a long time as you only need so little.

I think that for the price, I’d be ok using my own tweezers. The kit looks nice! Might look into it after I’m done with my MAC Brun eyeshadow.

Makeup Morsels, it’s a really nice kit indeed. I don’t mind using my own tweezers either as this set is just so good value for money anyway. I’m sure you’d like it too.

That looks identical to the the Benefit Browzings eyebrow kit. The tweezers in that kit are from Tweezerman but are still a little awkward. If the product consistency is the same this kit is great value.

Christina, I haven’t got the Benefit set so I can’t personally compare but I remember reading a review saying that this set was a great dupe for it, only cheaper. :) It’s a wonderful set. Inexpensive but effective.

I love you eyebrow as shown on the picture (if it is yours)! It is surely not perfectly picked, but really very tidy and nice.

Anna, thanks. And yes, that’s my eyebrow. I usually don’t do anything to them as I like the way they naturally look, but this kit does such a good job that I think I will use it often from now on. I know it’s not perfectly picked but sadly the tweezers in this kit don’t work that well and I thought using my own to take a picture for the review was cheating. ;)

Adia, I too neglected my eyebrows for years until finally starting to pay more attention to them. And this is a great kit to groom them, it works so well.
