Name: Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil in 21
Brand: Inglot
Size: 4.5g
Price: $11.00
From Inglot’s website:
Medium hard, matte jumbo pencil. Great staying power makes it an alternative for lip liner used by professionals for colouring lips. Moisturising properties achieved by the complex of lanoline substitutes and avocado butter.
What I liked:
- available in lots of shades
- very pigmented
- longlasting
- the packaging
What I didn’t like:
- not moisturizing
- if lips aren’t well prepped and moisturized, it will enhance flaws
I have a weakness for jumbo lip pencils. They are convenient to use and look so cute, but I had never tried one with a matte finish. So I was very thrilled when I won a Inglot Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil, a lipstick in a pencil form, in one of Makeup 4 All blog giveaways. This pencil is available in lots of shades so everyone will be able to find at least one they like. The one I have, 21, is a beautiful bright cherry red. It is very pigmented so one layer is all you need.
Because it has a matte finish, your lips need to be well prepped and moisturized before you apply it or the lipstick will settle into fine lines, accentuate every minor flaw and look uneven. On exfoliated and moisturized lips, though, the pencil glides on really smoothly and evenly. It also feels lightweight on the lips but it’s not moisturizing. It’s not too drying either but you definitely need to apply a layer of lip balm before using it.
The formula wears well too. It stays put for about 3-4 hours if you don’t eat nor drink, and then it fades evenly. The design of the pencil is very elegant and professional too and the price is right. It’s not very cheap but not too expensive either. If you’re looking for a matte pencil with good color payoff, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Summary
Inglot Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil in 21 is a pigmented cherry red shade with a matte finish. It lasts a few hours on the lips and is easy to apply too. However, lips need to be well moisturized before application or the lipstick will enhance any flaw. It’s not very moisturizing either.

Xin, it really is a shame that it is a bit drying, but I guess that’s a problem with most matte lipstick. Applying lip balm beforehand will fix it, though.
Happy that you liked it. I have a very dark shade myself and I think it’s amazing. This is a great price/quality variant as more expensive products can be even more drying…

Marina, I love it, thank you! And I agree. It is drying but then most matte lip products are and some of them cost a lot more. In the end, these pens are good value for money. You just have to remember to apply lip balm before using them.
Heard a lot about it, will def try

Vanity, I’m sure you’ll like it.
this sounds like something i could try, especially in redder tones. i’m surprised you didn’t find it as moisturizing as it sounded, but then again as you mentioned, it’s normal for most matte lippies to feel that way.

Dom, I’m sue you will like this pencil. It’s not moisturizing as it claims but then it’s not too drying either considering that it has a matte finish. Just apply a layer of lip balm beforehand (and maybe exfoliate too) and you’ll be fine.
