Name: Body
Brand: Burberry
Size: 1.1oz
Price: $55.00

What I liked:
- lovely warm, feminine floral scent
- strong, a little goes a long way
- lasts long
- the packaging

What I didn’t like:
- not very unique

Burberry evokes a sense of understated and feminine elegance which is perfectly captured in their latest fragrance, Body. Body is described as a fruity chypre but it doesn’t smell like that at all to me. Instead it’s a floral fragrance with warm amber and some woody notes. Now, if you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I dislike floral fragrances cos they tend to be very sweet. Luckily, this is not the case with Body. The florals are powdery and old-school, while the warm amber and woody notes prevent it from becoming too sweet. The end result is not very original, but is classy and feminine.

Body opens with notes of fresh but loud freesia with just a hint of peach. They feel quite powdery and remind me of the scents our grandmothers used to wear, but not in a bad way at all. I think it’s quite a timeless smell actually. Soon, the florals deepen and I can smell fresh roses and irises. The drydown is a blend of amber, musky woods and a touch of vanilla, which is warm and sensual. Because of this, Body is perfect for winter and more appropriate for the evening or a dinner date than the office.

Staying power is also good and once spritzed on, it lasts all day. It is also quite strong, although not overpoweringly so, so you only need very little for each application. I also love the design of the bottle. It is slim, shaped like a bullet and multifaceted with hues of gold, beige and rose gold intertwined. The cap is engraved with the classic Burberry check pattern that has become a synonymous for the brand. The overall look, just like the scent, is understated, feminine and classy.

Available at: Sephora and Nordstrom

Summary
Burberry Body Fragrance is an understated and feminine floral fragrance with warm amber and some woody notes. Although it doesn’t make any big statement and it’s not that original, the powdery floral notes intertwined with the warm amber and woody notes create a timeless, sensual and elegant blend, perfect for the evening. The scent is strong, but not overpowering and lasts all day. The packaging is beautiful too. However, it is expensive.

Rating: 4/5

I took a sniff of this when it first came out, and I quite like it. But not enough to make me purchase it. Besides, I rarely use fragrance.

Vonvon, I think the scent is wonderful and classy but it doesn’t really stand out, does it? I think you have to really like understated fragrances and wear them a lot to justify the expensive price tag, though.

I love this scent. I have the spray oil, and it’s just fab! I also have the Eau de Parfum too-maybe it’s just the career woman in me – I love it!

I hate when a perfume smells like everything else. Too bad this isn’t unique.

I love those feminine floral scents! Burberry is way too classy for me, so I have never had a single perfume from them.

Anna, Burberry is a very classy brand indeed and so is the fragrance. But if you like feminine florals, you may want to give this a sniff anyway. :)
