Sunday Survey, Vol.75

in sunday survey

1. Who’s your favourite designer?
Elie Saab, but I like Valentino a lot too. Their clothes are always so feminine, classy and elegant. They really know how to make women look and feel beautiful and special.

2. Do you wear the same makeup look more than once?
It has happened, but it’s rare. I like to wear new eyeshadow combos all the time but if I wear the same twice, then I’ll just change the lip color or blush.

3. How much sugar do you take in your tea?
Two spoonfuls.

4. Lace or satin?
Lace! But I like satin too.

5. How do you feel about leather skirts?
I think leathers skirts are really hard to pull off. If done right, they can look good but I would never wear one. It’s just not my style.

It’s your turn to take the survey now. Simply copy and paste the questions in the comments, then answer them!

1. Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen.
I reeeally liked what Mary Katrantzou did for the Spring 2011 collection, both for clothes and the jewelry. Simetric, geometric, clean, colourful, bold – what’s not to like?

Gareth Pugh has some interesting pieces from time to time and Manish Arora is a source of makeup inspiration.

Guo Pei is amazing, as are Anastasia Radevich’s heels.

Ooh, ooh, if you ever do a ‘favourite vintage designer’ question, I’m so here :D !

2. Sure.
There are some tweaks to them, but some looks are pretty much just ‘golden shadows’, or ‘light inside, coloured outside’, or ‘dark smokey eye’.

3. Two teaspoons of honey.

4. Satin.

5. Big no on leather clothing, except jackets (and those only on other people).
I can only see the downsides of it… plus it looks very ‘US Cosmo’ to me.

Ana, those are some very creative designers! Most of their clothes are things I just wouldn’t wear (I’m just boring when it comes to clothes really) but I love how artistic they are. Some of them are works of art. And I love the colors Mary Katrantzou used in her spring 2011 collection, they’re beautiful.

I probably wouldn’t wear those clothes even if I could afford them, but I love them for the inspiration they bring me :) (and the good tailoring).

Oooh, I forgot to mention my namesake, Ana Ljubinkovic and her Black Milk collection (who has little Internet presence, bah <_< ).

Ana, I know what you mean. They’re not easy to wear, I mean, some are so eccentric that I just wouldn’t know where to go in them, but that’s their beauty. They are so creative and inspiring.

And I didn’t know that designer. You’re right, she has little Internet presence. I just googled that collection and not much came up. What a shame.

1. Who’s your favourite designer?
I don’t know enough about clothes to say who is my favorite!
If you’re talking clothing brands, I like Ann Taylor in the US. I also get a lot of my clothes from Uniqlo. I like Zara but the quality of clothes is hit or miss. I used to like H&M and F21, but I find now that the quality of the materials that they use is so poor that it doesn’t make sense to buy anything!

2. Do you wear the same makeup look more than once?
Sure, I wake up at 5 AM on weekdays but I insist on doing makeup. I have a daily makeup bag so that I don’t waste time looking for stuff. Weekends are when I change out the stuff in my bag!

3. How much sugar do you take in your tea?
Usually, none. I consider sweetened tea and coffee to be a totally separate drink, which I will only drink if I really want something sweet. Totally off note: people drink sweetened green tea here, which is REALLY weird to me!

4. Lace or satin?
Satin! I can’t imagine a situation where lace would look good on me. I like it on other people, though!

5. How do you feel about leather skirts?
I used to wear them in college… hard to imagine now! I would love to find a thin leather skirt, but I find most of the leather to be too thick!

K, I agree about Zara. I find their clothes really pretty but the quality isn’t always good. It’s a shame but I guess sometimes you do get what you pay for.

I don’t think I have ever come across a thin leather skirt here which is too bad. They’re all too thick and those are really hard to pull off.

1. Who’s your favourite designer? Was Gianfranco Ferré… sigh. I love to wear Midali: comfortable and stylish clothes, a lot of natural fabrics and not too expensive.
2. Do you wear the same makeup look more than once? When I find a good combination, I come back to it if I need a “safe” look to put on quickly. But I love experimenting!
3. How much sugar do you take in your tea? None in green tea or tuocha or flavored teas, half a teaspoon in “classic” black tea. Muscovado if possible!
4. Lace or satin? Velvet ;)
5. How do you feel about leather skirts? I love suede shirts: leather is better for trousers, IMHO.

Leo, I agree about leather being better for trousers too.

I have never tried Midali clothes but I think they are very pretty and look quite comfy too.
