Black Up cosmetics is a French brand, founded in 1999, especially designed for women of color. Their products are created by a team of makeup artists to meet the needs of ladies with darker skin tones and are thus highly pigmented. Yet, they are also suitable for all women, including pale-skinned beauties that like bold eyeshadows with good color payoff, like me. I was first introduced to the brand in August when I received one of their 11 Pearl Powder loose eyeshadows as a birthday present and now I can’t wait to get more of them!
The shade I have is called PP15 and it is one of the most stunning purples I have ever seen. It is a rich purple infused with gold and bronze shimmers that make the eyes sparkle. Color payoff is really good but, to make the most out of it, you need to pat it on the lid. If you blend it, it will turn into a basic deep, dark purple and the shimmers are less visible too. That’s why, to make the color really pop and the shimmers stand out, I like to use it on top of Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.
The powder is very finely milled and doesn’t feel gritty to the touch. It goes on smoothly and evenly, blends easily, and, used with a primer, it lasts all day. But as with all pigments, application can be messy and fall out can occur, which is why I recommend you use a primer with it anyway. A sticky base will help the powder adhere better to the lid and reduce fallout. The price is quite expensive but then the jar, which has a sifter, contains a lot of product that’ll last you a lifetime.

Summary
Black Up Pearl Powder in PP15 is a beautiful purple with bronze shimmers that has good color payoff and makes your eyes sparkle. The texture applies and blends smoothly and is not gritty at all. Used with a primer, it’ll last all day. However, it is expensive and application can be messy.

Debenhams carry this brand, Jamilla? Then it must be in the bigger ones like those in London.

Makeup Morsels, it’s a shade that looks much better when swatched indeed. The gold and bronze shimmers really make it stand out.
I like the review, the product sounds amazing. It is great to know about its long lasting effect and I guess I need to be skillful before I apply it, which I am. I do think it is expensive but the huge supply in a jar make it worth it.

Jennifer, it really is wonderful. The price is high, I agree, but the quality is good and the bronze shimmer make the purple really stand out. Plus, it’ll last you forever.
