Name: Gli Arcobaleni Palette in Intensissimi
Brand: Neve Makeup/Neve Cosmetics
Size: 10x3g
Price: €26,80

From Neve Makeup’s website:
10 intense, vibrant eyeshadows packaged in a professional palette. The velvet texture makes blending easy.

What I liked:
- lots of beautiful vibrant shades
- pigmented
- soft texture, easy to blend
- longlasting
- the packaging

What I didn’t like:
- if you don’t like matte or bright eyeshadows, this is not for you
- four shades aren’t very pigmented
- colors aren’t as vibrant as they look in the pan when swatched
- there is no shade to highlight the browbone
- the price
- not available outside Italy

I have been lemming the Intensissimi Eyeshadow palette by Neve Makeup ever since it was released last December. How could I not? It looks like a dream palette for those who like me love bright eyeshadows. The price was putting me off a bit but then my lovely reader Ana asked me if I had any plans to review it, which gave me the encouragement I needed (which wasn’t much really) to finally order it. It took only one day to arrive and when I opened it, I was blown away but how vibrant the colors looked in the pan. So vibrant that my boyfriend remarked that this must be a painter’s palette instead than an eyeshadow one lol.

But once I swatched them, I was left a bit disappointed. Not all the shades are as bright and pigmented as I had expected. Grass, a grassy green with a satin finish is the sheerest. Banana, a matte bright yellow, Night Life, an electric blue with a satin finish, and Velvet, a purple with warm undertones, are on the sheer side too. You really need to pack the color on to get them to show up properly. The other shades, instead, have great pigmentation. Magma is a matte bright orange; Watermelon is, like the name suggests, a watermelon red with a velvety finish; Diva is a satin and bright fuchsia; Alien, a bright and matte lime green; Acquario, an intense turquoise with a satin finish; and Brivido, a bright blue with a satin finish. Acquario and Brivido look very similar in the swatch above, but the first is greener.

While most of the shades are pigmented, and all of them have a soft texture that’s very easy to blend and last about 8 hours before they start creasing, they really aren’t as bright as they look. You wouldn’t think so by looking at them in the pan, but these are actually wearable brights that are easy to pull off. They’re bright but quite soft (unless you really pack the color on or use them wet which improves the color payoff). I know that sounds a bit confusing. I think I will have to use them in a FOTD soon to show you all what I mean. I am a bit disappointed that it doesn’t contain a highlighting shade. I know this is meant to be a palette of really vibrant shades, but maybe they could have included a bright white. Maybe it’s just me, but I thinks something is missing from a palette when it doesn’t include a highlighting shade.

Overall, if you’re looking for a palette of wearable brights, you will really enjoy this palette. But if you prefer really vibrant shades, then you should opt for Sleek eyeshadow palettes, which are more pigmented and a lot cheaper. If bright colorful shades aren’t your thing at all, instead, you can try  one of the other palettes in the Gli Arcobaleni range: Chiarissimi, a palette of 10 pale and light eyeshadows, Scurissimi, a palette of dark and smokey shades, or you can  just customize your own palette with your favourite shades from the other three.

The packaging is very simple. The palette is dark purple, almost blue in color, with a simple drawing of a green rainbow on the lid. It is quite big so not very handy to carry around with you when you travel. It also doesn’t have a mirror, which is a shame as there is plenty of room for it. But each pot is huge so the colors will last you for ages and the palette has a magnetic bottom so you can take them out easily.

Summary
Neve Makeup Gli Arcobaleni Palette in Intensissimi contains 10 colorful eyeshadows in matte and satin finishes. The colors are bright but not as bright as they look in the pan and quite wearable. Four of them are on the sheer side, but all have a soft texture and blend easily. However, it doesn’t have any shade suitable for highlighting and is not available outside Italy.

Rating: 3.5/5

Have you tried foiling them? It’s a bit of a hassle, but I’m sure you could get the color intensity you’re looking for. I do like that they’re wearable but still colorful, although I think I’d rather go for a Sleek palette at that price point. Looking forward to seeing what you do in your FOTD!

Makeup Morsels, yes and it improves the intensity. Although I don’t really like using eyeshadows foiled as it’s just too much of a hassle. Usually, I would use them with Fyrinnae PE but they are mostly matte so wouldn’t work that well with that either. I like the idea of wearable brights too, it’s just that I was led to believe these would be insanely bright and well… weren’t. Sleek eyeshadows are definitely better and a lot more vibrant without needing to be foiled.

Xin, they are pretty, aren’t they? But most of the shades too several swipes to show up properly and reach that intensity. Still, gorgeous brights.

FOTD coming soon!

OMG, so pretty! Too bad about the pigmentation, though. Can’t wait for the FOTD’s. :)

Tammy, I agree. Beautiful shades but not as bright and pigmented as I would have liked. And I will post some soon.

Wow! Pretty! Eeee!! And I love matte and bright shadows.

But, uh, not very pigmented? And only in Italy? I’m sad about it.

Trisha, it’s a beautiful palette, isn’t it? It’s a shame it has a lot of disappointing shades though..

I bet those shades will pop beautifully under the right base. The shades are lovely.

Brittany, they are lovely indeed and a good base will definitely help. I just wish they didn’t need one..

*cough*
I feel like such an enabler, especially since the colour-payoff wasn’t as expected (although I bet a lot of people would love that it is wearable while still packing a punch of less usual, bright colour).

Thank you so much for reviewing it  !

Ana, I’m glad you gave me the push I needed to try it. I had wanted for a long time and even though it’s not as bright as I would like, the colors are still pretty and wearable, which I’m sure a lot of people appreciate. :)

And you’re welcome. I’m glad I could help.

wow , the price is quite high indeed.
Good that it’s not available outside Italy so that I won’t crave for it that much lol

Adia, it is on the pricey side indeed although the pan are quite big so they will last for ages. But honestly, I expected the shades to be brighter and more pigmented for the price.

And lol.

the price is high because it is mineral and totally eco-bio make up.

Annucciagh, I see. But still, for the price, I would have liked the shades to be more pigmented.

Ilaria, I agree. A black shade would have been a great addition to this palette.
