Name: Checkered Nail Polish Sticker
Brand: My Finger Sweets
Price: $11.00

From My Finger Sweet’s website:
This new and innovative nail art design product offers you cool pre-printed nail art designs. If your looking for easy to create nail art, this is for you! Simply soak in water, remove the nail tattoo, apply to nails, and adhere with the Finger Sweets Top Coat!

What I liked:
- pretty designs
- nice way of creating nail art
- don’t look fake on the nails
- you get 12 stickers

What I didn’t like:
- application can be difficult at first
- stickers break easily so be gentle

I love nail art, but I don’t have a steady hand and am really bad at it. For those like me, nail stickers are a nice way to create beautiful nail arts easily and quickly, so when Sheena, the owner of My Finger Sweets, asked me if I wanted to try her Checkered Nail Polish Sticker, I eagerly said yes. I find the black and white checkered pattern pretty and it doesn’t look too obvious or fake on the nails. But if you don’t like it, there are other several pretty patterns available.

The nail stickers (12 in total) come with a nail file and instructions on the back. To apply them, start by cutting off the right size for your nails and dip them in water for about 10/20 seconds. Now you should be able to peel off the sticker from the paper, but do it very gently or it could break. Place the sticker on your nail with the round part facing the cuticle and apply a top coat. This will keep the sticker in place, help remove some of the excess sticker and make it last several days. Finish off by filing the excess sticker down to your nail length.

In the video above, application seems really easy, but I had some problems with it. The stickers are very thin so you need to be very, very gentle when you peel them off the paper or they’ll break off and be useless. You also have to be careful not to keep them in the water too long or it could damage them and make them more prone to breakage (but don’t pull them out of the water too soon either or they won’t peel off easily). Luckily you get 12 stickers so you’re allowed to make a couple of mistakes at first until you get the hang of it.

I also thought that the nail file that comes with the stickers is a very nice touch but in the end I didn’t use it. I’ve found that the excess sticker broke off when I applied the top coat so there was no need to file it away. But be careful when you apply the top coat. Do it gently or you may strip off some of the print and remove the design. Overall, these stickers require a bit of work to put them on at first. I’m still a newbie at applying nail stickers so my first attempt wasn’t very successful but that was more due to my lack of practice than to the quality of the stickers. Once you get the hang of it, though, you’ll be able to put them on in no time.

Summary
If like me you love nail art but can’t do it yourself, My Finger Sweets Nail Polish Stickers are a nice alternative. The designs available are pretty and don’t look fake on the nails, but the stickers are very thin and so they break easily. Because of this, it takes a bit of work and practice to put them on if you have never used this type of stickers before (you get 12 stickers though so you’re allowed a couple of mistakes while you get the hang of it).

Rating: 3.5/5

those sound WAY too fragile….the sally hansen ones don’t require such delicacy

Vonnie, I haven’t tried the Sally Hansen ones yet but I’m very curious too. These are very thin so they need to be handled very carefully. You just need to get the hang of it, which can take some time if you are as clumsy as me.

Xin, yeah, the price can put some people off, can’t it? Still, they are nice stickers and I like that they don’t look fake on the nails. And that’s a great deal, I can’t wait to see what you got. :)
