Name: Au Naturel I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette
Brand: Sleek Makeup
Size: 12×1.1g
Price: £6.49

From Sleek Makeup’s website:
The Au Naturel i-Divine provides an array of matte and pearlescent eye shadows providing a subtle yet contoured effect for day, that can be built up for a smoky glamorous effect using velvety browns and shimmering fawns.

What I liked:
- shimmery and dark matte shades are very pigmented
- easy to blend
- longlasting
- shades aren’t powdery
- the packaging
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- the lighter matte shades are sheer

Neutral shades are very popular this fall. After Urban Decay came out with their Naked Palette, it seems like every brand is following suit and releasing its own version, which I think it’s great. I might be a fan of bright and bold shades but every girl needs some neutral eyeshadows in her stash. The latest brand to release a neutral palette is Sleek Makeup. Part of the Naked Collection (which is permanent, yay!), the Au Naturel palette features eight matte and four shimmering eyeshadows in soft and dark neutral tones, which aren’t neither too warm nor too cool and will suit most skintones. Let’s look at them one by one, shall we?

Taupe: shimmering peachy taupe
Toast: matte light peach, pigmented
Honeycomb: matte light yellow, pigmentation is ok
Cappuccino: matte light beige
Nubuck: matte light grey, sheer
Nougat: matte light white cream shade, nicely pigmented

Noir: matte black
Regal: matte reddish brown
Mineral Earth: shimmering dark brown
Bark: matte dark brown
Moss: shimmering military green with brown undertones
Conker: shimmering reddish brown

As you can see from the swatches, the shadows in the first row, which are mostly matte, are very soft. Toast and Honeycomb are a bit more pigmented than how they look in the swatch, but they all provide just a soft wash of color on the lids. They are good at creating barely-there looks (after all, this is a palette to create natural looks), but I prefer to use them to highlight the browbone area. If you have dark skin though, you may want to swatch the shades in the store before buying the palette to see how well they show up on you. Also, a primer helps improve the color payoff.

The darker matte shades instead, have great pigmentation (although not as good as that of the shimmering shades). All the shades aren’t powdery and blend effortlessly. They are also all very wearable and not boring at all. And I love how you can use the first row of shades to create really subtle looks or use the second one to create deeper, smokier looks that will last for hours. The eyeshadows start to crease on my slightly oily lids after about 8 hours but they’ll last longer if you use a primer underneath.

Summary
If you love neutral eyeshadows, you may want to check out Sleek Makeup Au Naturel I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette. It contains 12 matte and shimmery neutral shades which aren’t boring and will suit most skintones. They are all easy to blend and last long but while most of the shades are very pigmented, the light matte ones are quite sheer and may not show up well on darker skintones. They work very well as highlighters though.

Rating: 4/5

I saw this in Superdrug this morning, swatched them but somehow didn’t quite like it.

Instead I found one Oh So Special palette in the drawer, and got that! :)

Vonvon, when I first swatched the first row I wasn’t too impressed (the second one is gorgeous) but after playing with it I changed my mind. This is part of the Nude collection so it makes sense that it contains some subtle shades that provide just a wash of colors on the lids. You can use the first row of shades for the “no makeup look” and the second one for more dramatic, but natural, looks. But if that’s not your thing, then the Oh So Special palette is a better buy. That one has some gorgeous color and the matte shades are more pigmented.

Thanks for the swatches! I am SO getting this palette. I love that there are a lot of matte shades. My favourite shades have to be Regal and Conker.

I got this this afternoon, with the Oh So Special one – and I love them both – in fact I’m going to ‘mothball’ my UD Naked palette as I think I prefer these :) The blush in this new ‘Nude’ set is great too – just right for work.

Viv, they are both beautiful palettes, perfect for everyday looks. I have the blush too but haven’t played with it yet, only swatched it and it seems very wearable. :)

mmm these do look quite nice. Very Naked Palette like at a fraction of the price :) But it does tend to be a little warm which is something I’m afraid of :(

Paris, I like how dupes of the Naked palette are springing up everywhere and at all price points so anyone can afford a good naked palette. They are a bit warm but not that much. I think they will suit a wide variety of skintones. But I know you’re not too fond of the matte texture of Sleek shadows and this one has a lot of them. Most of them are soft and perfect for barely-there looks but may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

I am so tempted to buy this palette, I just bought the Storm and Acid palettes and I love them!

Sal, those are two of my favourite Sleek palettes. The pigmentation is awesome and the Acid palette has some crazy shades! This new one is very tempting too, isn’t it?

Trisha, I was disappointed about that at first but once I tried them, I love how soft they look on the lids. I think it would have bothered me more if this had been a colorful palette, but this is a neutral one and the matte shades, as Sleek states, are meant to create a subtle effect for the day and that it does really well. It keeps its promises but I understand not every one will like it.

Stavroula, this is a great palette to own if you are into natural eyeshadows. I love how the first row creates really subtle looks and they second more dramatic, but still very natural ones.
