Bulgari Eau D’Ete Fragrance comes in a simple and beautiful azure-blue bottle that’s inspired by the colors of the sea. The cap glitters, capturing the beautiful shimmer of sunlight on water. But, unlike the elegant packaging, the fragrance itself, although sparkling and sunny, doesn’t evoke images of the ocean to me. Instead, when I wear it, I feel like I’m taking a stroll on a beautiful summer day. I start from the orchard, walk into the gardens where I stop to smell the flowers and proceed to a small wood nearby..

The fragrance opens with light and sparkling citrus notes of lemon and mandarin that feel somewhat sour, mixed with herbal and crisp mint. Half an hour later, the floral heart takes over: violet, jasmin and iris notes are at first sweet but soon turn powdery. And every now and then, you can smell a hint of cinnamon mixed with the florals, which makes the scent very interesting. In the drydown, the scent becomes warm and stronger, with notes of amber and musk taking the place of the florals.

Although Bulgari Eau D’Ete is not the kind of fragrance that’d usually appeal to me (I’m into woody and oriental scents), I really enjoy it. I love its transformation from fresh to warm and think it is perfect to wear on summer days. I wouldn’t recommend it on nights because it’s neither sensual nor strong. Yes, it becomes stronger as it reaches its end, but you still have to be really close to someone for them to be able to smell it. Staying powder is great though. Once spritzed on in the morning, it lasts all day.

Available at: Sephora and Amazon UK

Summary
Bulgari Eau D’Ete Fragrance is a great fragrance for summer. It opens with sparkling citrus notes and proceeds with powdery florals before the amber and musk dry down takes over. This fresh scent lasts all day on the skin but it is very subtle so only those that are very near you can smell it. Oh, and the bottle is beautiful too.

Bulgari always has a place in my heart as it produces some really lovely daytime fragrances. I think eau d’ete are supposed to be really mild and watery-like. I tried Kenzo eu d’ete before and I’m absolutely in love with it.

Dao, Bulgari makes some lovely scents indeed. I think this is supposed to be watery too but it just doesn’t smell like that on me… may have something to do with my body chemistry I guess.. Still, it smells wonderful anyway. :)

Trisha, the bottle is very pretty. But yes, it’s not too sweet so I’m not sure you’d like it. Maybe you can try and give it a sniff at the counter?
