What beauty products do you spend the most money on?
Beautiful with Brains says: while I usually prefer drugstore products as I don’t believe that expensive products are necessary better than cheap ones (there are both great and awful products in any price range), I like to splurge on foundations and concealers as I find they offer a more natural coverage and a better shade selection (drugstore base products often have strong yellow undertones or just make me look orange!). And I don’t mind spending more for skincare products with Retinoids as they are the only ingredients that have been proven to reduce wrinkles.

I agree with you that there are good and bad products at any price point! I used to love a certain department store foundation, but my current love is one from the drugstore. Retinoids are one of the few skin care ingredients that I’ll spend money on as well!

K, I wish I could use drugstore foundations. They have really improved a lot in recent years but sadly I haven’t found one that’s pale enough for my skintone. I’m glad you found one you love.
I love drugstore mascaras, but I blow the budget on foundations! Like Kay, I also spend money on retinoids.

Jamilla, I like drugstore mascaras too. And they have such a short shelf-life I don’t really like to splurge on expensive ones. Foundations and products with Retinoids are worth the extra money imo.
Lol, I think for me it’s mirror and brushes (which I don’t buy all that often). I gave up on foundation long time ago since I never get a perfect match and they are all so expensive to try.
Citrine, I don’t splurging on brushes too. And it’s so hard to find a good foundation match!
Foundation, because cheap brands have poor colour selection and/or little staying power on combination skin. I like to splurge on lipstick and lipgloss too, high end ones are not better than drugstore ones but… sometimes a girl needs to treat herself to a new lipstick!

La Bisbetica, I agree that drugstore brands have a poor color selection when it comes to foundations. And here in Italy, stores only seem to keep three or four shades of each foundation. How is one supposed to find a good match?!
I don’t really like splurging on high-end glosses but love expensive lipsticks. I agree that they are a really nice treat every now and then.
When I actually buy stuff (since I get some for free because of my blog), it’s almost always at the drug store. But, if there were a Sephora anywhere near where I live, I’d have a different answer.

Trisha, lol. I wish I had a Sephora near me too! I buy most of my stuff from the drugstore too but it’s nice to treat yourself to something more expensive sometimes. You just need to read the reviews first to make sure you’re not wasting money…
I need to splurge on foundations – drugstore foundations always seem to oxidize on my pale skin and turn me into an orange mess! I also like to treat myself to a few high end bits and pieces now and again – Nars blushes especially, they always seem to beat drugstore blushes hands down!
Bun Bun´s last [type] ..The best of July
Bun bun, that often happens to me with drugstore foundations and it’s so annoying! I think high-end ones have a better color selection and a more natural coverage although lately some drugstore brands have stepped up their game and released good base products.
I can’t think of one particular product but I just get a product what I want. I have to say that I like luxury blushes, they are such a joy to use.
And I agree, you can find great products both in high end and high street but I definitely own more luxury products in my personal collection.

Marina, I like luxury blushes too, they usually have a wonderful texture.
i think mine would be serums and blushes! maybe brushes too

Plue, a good serum is definitely worth the money. And I consider brushes as an investment as they can last years so I don’t mind splurging on them either.
For makeup, I’d splurge on foundations and lipstick. For skincare, serums and moisturizers get my vote. But in a pinch, I’d probably splurge on everything as well

Paris, I think it’s nice to splurge on any product every once in a while.
But good foundations and skincare products are more worthy of the extra money imo.
Definitely splurge the most on skincare. As far as makeup is concerned, I probably spend the most on lip products. A good portion of my lip collection is made up of drugstore items, but I’m more likely to splurge on a lipstick than another makeup item.
Makeup Morsels´s last [type] ..Ellis Faas’ Sizzling Summer Set
Makeup Morsels, high-end lipsticks are some luxurious treats! They have such a creamy consistency and elegant packaging. I prefer splurging on skincare too.
Sunscreens! I just go through them so quickly…I don’t own anything very expensive, I buy most of my products at the pharmacy.
Cris, sunscreens tend to run out so quickly, I agree.
Well definitely bath and body stuff but because of the amount I buy not because the products are so expensive. The most I’d spend on a body scrub is £30ish and it would have to be guaranteed to be damn fabulous at that price!

Annabella, I don’t like buying expensive body products, but I do buy a lot of cheap ones and when you sum them all up, you end up spending quite a lot, I agree.
