Product Review: Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipcolor in Energetic

Name: Moisture Rich Lipcolor in Energetic
Brand: Silkygirl
Price: about RM17

From Silkygirl’s website:
A moisturizing lipcolor that provides full coverage with a lustrous finish.

What I liked:
- beautiful bright but wearable shade
- luminous finish
- creamy consistency, glides on smoothly
- pigmented
- quite moisturizing, doesn’t dry lips

What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t last long
- not available worldwide

Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipcolor comes in a pretty boring and cheap (but then the price is cheap) tube: it is silver in color with only the name of the brand printed on it. It is not eye-catching and it is something you could easily overlook when shopping next to all the other products with fancier, prettier packaging, which is a shame as inside it, it hides a great lipstick.

The shade I have is called Energetic and it is a bright but wearable gorgeous peachy pink with the slightest glossy finish. The texture is buttery soft and glides on so smoothly on the lips, providing great and opaque color payoff in just one swipe. Because of its creamy consistency, I was afraid it would bleed, but thankfully that didn’t happen.

I find the texture quite moisturizing for a drugstore lippie (it obviously isn’t as moisturizing as high-end lipsticks such as those from Lancome or Estee Lauder though) and you could skip applying a lip balm when you wear this if your lips aren’t dry. It didn’t dry my lips at all and it just felt very comfortable on.

But like most lip products, Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipcolor too requires frequent reapplication. Energetic lasts about 3 hours on me if I don’t eat. It fades a bit when you have a snack but doesn’t survive a proper meal. It is also a shame that Silkygirl is available only in a few Asian countries or I would get more of these lipsticks cos they are great value for money.

Available at: pharmacies in Malaysia and Singapore

Summary
Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipcolor in Energetic is a bright peachy pink with a luminous finish. Pigmented and creamy, it glides on easily on the lips and feels very comfortable on. It doesn’t dry lips but needs frequent reapplication and is available only in very few Asian countries.

    • Trisha, it’s a pretty shade indeed. I wish it lasted longer too but then lip products never last long on me.
