Product Review: I Provenzali Shampoo All’Erba Cappuccina

Name: Shampoo All’Erba Cipollina
Brand: I Provenzali

From the packaging:
A shampoo for everyone that needs an effective remedy against dandruff.

What I liked:
– cleanses hair well
– leaves hair soft
– reduces dandruff from first application
– lovely scent
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– easy to pour out more than necessary
– not available outside of Italy

One of the (many) downsides of having oily hair is that I often have to deal with dandruff. *sighs* But lately I’ve found a very loyal and trusted ally against this embarrassing and annoying condition: I Provenzali Shampoo All’Erba Cappuccina (Shampoo with Nasturtium). Formulated to fight dandruff, it contains Piroctone Olamine, an anti-fungal and antibacterial agent that has been shown to work well in concentrations as low as 1%.

And once put to the test, it didn’t disappoint. From the very first use, it reduces flaking and itchiness and in a couple of weeks, my dandruff was completely and finally gone! Yay! Of course I keep using this shampoo hoping it’ll prevent it from coming back (and so far it hasn’t) and because I really love how it cleanses my hair.

The shampoo is light orange in color and has a very liquidy and runny consistency, which makes it easy to pour too much product out so be careful when you use it or you’ll have to repurchase it more often than otherwise needed. It also produces a lot of foam but is quite gentle on the hair: it cleanses it well, removing all traces of dirt, impurities and dandruff, while leaving hair soft, smooth and smelling lovely.

I also noticed that since I started using this shampoo, I don’t have to wash my hair as often as I used to. Oily hair gets dirty so fast so I always had to wash it every other day or just use a dry shampoo that would absorb the oil and make it look decent. But now thanks to this shampoo, my hair stays clean for two days after washing, which is a record for me.

Available at: and Italian drugstores and supermarkets

I Provenzali Shampoo All’Erba Cappuccina is an effective antidandruff shampoo. It cleanses hair well, leaving it soft and smelling wonderfully while reducing dandruff right from the first application. In addition, it keeps hair clean for longer so I don’t have to wash it as often as I used to. The consistency is very runny though so it’s easy to pour out more product than you need.

Rating: 4/5

Paris, lol. That would have been great. I would love to try coffee scented-shampoo. Sounds weird and cool at the same time. :)

Oily hair is a mess. But I only suffer from extreme dandruff if I use anti dandruff shampoo. Weird, I know, but I have a very weird scalp since I was a kid. So, I stopped using it. But it’s superb to read that it helped you. I hope it won’t stop doing its magic. Have you also noticed that some shampoos don’t work anymore after some time of constant use? I’m sure that I’ve changed the brands more often than my undies in my life. 😉

Mylanqolia, that’s weird but we’re all different I guess. I hope you managed to find something that works for you thought. I’ve been using this shampoo for a few months now and so far, it’s working well. I hope it won’t suddenly stop. It happened to me too in the past and it’s very annoying having to search for something else all over again.

Tammy, it’s a shame this is not available in the States. I hope you will find something that works for you. Oily hair and dandruff are such annoying issues to deal with!

I feel sad also. I am from the Philippines and wonders how I could get it. Is there any way one could ship it? I am afraid my friend working in Italy has to be bugged by me to bring me some. I think planes these days filter such items as it may pose a threat like bomb or something. :(

Katrina, can’t your friend ship a bottle to you in the meantime? I’m sure a shampoo is allowed on a plane, just not in carry-on luggage so maybe you can get a few bottles that way too.
