Looks: Honolulu Dance

Hello everyone,

today I want to show you a soft, wearable look I did with the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance, which contains pinks and purple shades. I have to say it’s not the easiest palette to work with: the colors aren’t that pigmented and they come in small stripes, not separated from one other, so the brush tends to pick up more than one shade at a time. But all in all, I’m pleased with how the look turned out. It’s romantic and feminine, suitable for any occasion. Without further ado, here it is:

Products used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
– P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H in Black
Layla Love For Lash Mascara
YSL Teint Singulier Sheer Powdercreme Veil Foundation
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer- – Pupa Luminys Blush (Pink one from from Plastic Shine collection 2009)
– Wet n Wild Cover All Concealer Palette
Fyrinnae Finishing Powder Oil Control
Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Rose Petal
– MAC Viva Glam Special Edition VI gloss

Directions:
– Start by applying an eyeshadow primer to your eyes (I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance) to help makeup stay put all day and improve the color payoff of the eyeshadows.
– Pat a soft, pale pink (I used the one in the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance) on the lid and bring it slightly up the crease.
– Apply a cool soft purple (I used the one in the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance) on the outer V and blend it into the crease too.
– Darken the outer V by using a bright medium purple (I used the one in the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance).
– Using a smudger or eyeliner brush, apply a dark purple shade (I used the one in the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance) near the lashline and blend it in.
– Sweep a very pale pink (I used the one in the P2 Color Boulevard Eyeshadow in Honolulu Dance) on the browbone to highlight.
– Line your upper lid with a black gel liner (I used Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H in Black) and apply mascara.
– On your face, apply your usual foundation (I used YSL Teint Singulier Sheer Powdercreme Veil Foundation in no.5) and then concealer (I used Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Porcelain) to cover dark circles or any other imperfection you may have.
– Sweep a pink blush (I used the pink striped one from the Pupa Plastic Shine collection 2009) on your cheeks and highlight the cheekbones, middle of the nose and chin with a white highlighter (I used the white shade in the Wet n Wild Cover All Concealer Palette). Set everything with powder (I used Fyrinnae Finishing Powder Oil Control).
– Swipe a soft antique pink lipstick (I used Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Rose Petal) on your lips and apply a pink gloss (I used MAC Viva Glam Special Edition VI gloss) on top.

I love the soft wash of colour. It’s a lovely spring look (I prefer decent eye make ups at the moment). But you’re absolutely right.:-) The P2 Colour Boulevard Eyeshadow is cruel. That’s why I’ve never bought any of these.

Mylanqolia, thank you. I wouldn’t have picked it up myself just cos the packaging is a pain. 5 colors in such a small compact are too many! But still, it’s a nice palette for those that like soft and wearable looks who don’t mind the packaging. :)
