Product Review: Sleek Pout Polish SPF 15 in Pink Cadillac

Name: Pout Polish SPF 15 in Pink Cadillac
Brand: Sleek
Size: 10g
Price: £4.29

From Sleek’s website:
A tinted lip conditioning balm to help condition the lips and lock in moisture. It also includes SPF15 to help protect the lips from sun exposure. Using a lip brush or fingers, apply a small amount to the lips for a sheer wash of colour and gloss.

What I liked:
– good color payoff
– shiny finish
– looks very natural on
– moisturizing, leaves lips soft and smooth
– not sticky
– contains SPF
– packaging is cute and travel-friendly
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– needs to be applied with a brush
– the scent

It is no secret that I absolutely adore Sleek eyeshadow palettes. In fact, I’ve been raving about them on this blog for about two years now, but I can’t believe I’ve so far neglected to tell you about another one of my favourite products from Sleek: the Pout Polish. If you like tinted conditioning lip balms, then I urge to get your hands on one of these babies (they are available in pink, peach, brown, plum and red shades). You won’t be disappointed!

Pink Cadillac looks like a bright fuchsia in the pot, but don’t let that scare you. On the lips, it looks very natural and wearable. It is pigmented enough to actually add color to your lips (don’t you just hate those tinted lip balms that are so sheer they never shop up at all and are just pointless really?) but it still lets your natural lip color show through. The result is a nice wash of color on your lips with lots of shine.

While the Pout Polish looks like a gloss once applied, it is also as moisturizing as a lip balm. I always put on lip balm before applying any other lip product but when I wear Pink Cadillac I don’t have to. It leaves my lips soft, smooth and hydrated for hours and it’s not sticky at all so it also feels very comfortable on. And it contains SPF 15 to keep your pout protected from the sun rays, which is always a plus!

The Pout Polish has a strong vanilla scent, which I personally don’t like. I don’t usually mind vanilla in lip products, I just wish it was subtler in this one but I can still put up with it considering how well this product performs. It tastes quite nice though. As for staying power, the Pout Polish lasts about 2 and a half hours on my lips, which isn’t too great but not that bad either. You’ll definitely have to reapply it throughout the day though.

I have a love/hate relationship with the packaging though. The Pout Polish comes in a little but wide plastic jar, which looks cute, edgy and is also travel-friendly. It also contains A LOT of product so it will last you for months. However, I wish it came in a tube. As pretty as the jar is, I really hate having to stuck my finger in it (which is also not very hygienic) to apply the product. Of course, you can also use a brush instead. But I personally prefer lip products that come in tubes, they’re just easier and quicker to apply.

Available at: and Superdrug stores in the UK

Sleek Pout Polish in Cadillac is a soft pink that’s pigmented enough to add color and shine to your lips but still looks very natural and wearable on. It moisturizes lips, leaving them soft and smooth, tastes nice and it isn’t sticky at all. However, it lasts less than 3 hours on me and the scent is a bit too strong for my personal taste. The packaging is cute but some may not like having to use a brush or your finger to apply it.

Erika, yes, Sleek is an UK brand. :) The pot is really cute, isn’t it? I just wish it was more practical too.

Trisha, I hate having to use a brush too but at least the product itself is great so it’s worth it.

And thanks. I wanted to spice things up a bit and I’m glad you like it. :)

That is SUPER pretty on you!!

But, I’d have to say that having to use a brush is usually a deal breaker for me as far as lip products go because I just get SO lazy.

And I’ve been reading about this brand all over the net. I want! lol

      Mary, thanks.

Usually, I try to avoid lip products in jars cos I’m too lazy to use a brush too but I heard so many rave reviews about the Pout Polish that I just had to try one anyway and I’m glad I did. I wish they came in a tube, though. That would appeal to more people. :)
