QOTW: What’s your favourite eyeshadow base?

What’s your favourite eyeshadow base?

Beautifulw with Brains says: Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. I use TFSI daily. It makes my makeup stay put all day, improves the color payoff of eyeshadows and it has a silky smooth, lightweight texture. It feels like you have nothing on. I also love my beloved Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy but only use that when I want my eyeshadows to be really bold or to bring out the duochrome, shimmers or glitters in the eyeshadows.

Fidya, ne ho sentito parlare bene ma non l’ho ancora provato. Rimedierò al più presto.

UDPP is the only primer that can truly withstand Malaysian weather! But I think the elf Mineral Eyeshadow Primer is also pretty good for its price

Connie, I’m glad you found a primer taht works well in hot and humid weather. UDPP is awesome! :)

Nars! Sometimes I also use the UDPP but it will just work during winter for me, during summer it is not good enough for my skin.

Steffi, it’s a shame that UDPP doesn’t work during the summer for you. :( I haven’t tried the Nars one yet but I read rave reviews about it. :)

I’ve only tried the UDPP and MAC paint pot. I like them both. One nice feature of the paint pot is that it covers up veins (if you have really fair skin like me). I have considered getting some Pixie Epoxy, since I recently aquired some really pretty loose mineral e/s from Silk Naturals. I really like them, because of their sparkle and glimmer. They seem like fairy dust. But, it seems that you need a better primer for them to really stand out.

Eleanor, you should get the Pixie Epoxy then. It makes any pigment stick well to the eyes while improving their pigmentation and bringing out shimmers, glitters and even duochrome. It’s an amazing product! :)

Stavroula, I love the Art Deco base too. :) And you should try Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, words can’t describe how awesome it is. :)

I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance, which I like, but it’s the only eyeshadow base I’ve used so far. I was at Sephora yesterday, and there are several eyedshadow bases I want to try next. I’ll probably pick up the Urban Decay one that has the shimmer next.

Jeni, I actually prefer TFSI to UDPP (haven’t tried their shimmer version yet though). They perform pretty much the same on me but I like the texture of TFSI more. :)

My beloved Rival de Loop Young e/s base that only is available in Germany. Such a shame. :-(

Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my favorite :)
Pixie Epoxy isn’t a primer for me, but it is magical!

Phyrra, I’m not sure that the Pixie Epoxy is technically a primer, but I still love it. It’s magical indeed and such an awesome product! :)

Too Faced Shadow Insurance or e.l.f. Eyelid Primer! I also like the new Stila Prime Pots.

Tammy, I love TFSI too! I think I have to try the ELF primer as well since it’s so cheap and seems to work well. :)

I’ve heard amazing things about Pixie Epoxy! I use TFSI when I have to do a lot of blending, and UDPP when I need my makeup to stay in place (I think UDPP does a better job keeping the eyeliner on my lower lashline in place).

Per ora nonostante il mio odio per il packaging rimane al primo posto la Urban decay con il Primer Potion versione classic, ma ammetto che sono desiderosa di cambiare e vorrei provare quello della too faceed!

Marguerite, io li ho usati entrambi e su di me funzionano allo stesso modo.

I love UDPP & Etude House Proof 10 Primer. They’re very similar! I’ve heard so amny great things about the Pixie Epoxy! I’ve found that LA Splash has a similar product and I think I might purchase the Epoxy to compare!

Dee, I didn’t know that LA Splash has a similar product! I’d be very interested to know how they compare and I think it is great that more companies are coming out with products like this. :)
