Product Review: Dove Rich Nourishing Hand Cream

Name: Rich Nourishing Hand Cream
Brand: Dove
Size: 75ml
Price: €1,58

From Dove’s website:
The key to beautiful skin is: moisture. That’s why Dove made this hand cream with rich moisturising ingredients to nurture and protect your hands’ beauty. With it 24hr nourishing moisture formula, Dove leaves your hands immediately softer… then goes deeper to replenish moisture… then holds onto this moisture for 24 hours

What I liked:
– lightweight texture
– absorbs quickly
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– not very moisturizing
– doesn’t keep skin hydrated for long, needs to be reapplied often

Due to a combination of freezing cold weather and washing hands 200 times a day (alright, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but I do wash my hands a lot), my hands are always very dry, often red and sometimes cracked in the winter months. To keep them in a good condition, a rich and moisturizing hand cream is something I just can’t do without.

I’ve tried a lot of creams during the years but I never found one I was truly satisfied with so, when I came across Dove Rich Nourishing Hand Cream, which promised to keep skin hydrated for 24 hours (and for less than €2 too!) of course I couldn’t help but purchase it. I went home full of hope, which was soon crashed. Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting the cream to keep my hands moisturized for the entire day, but its hydrating action doesn’t even last for half an hour!

It has a lightweight consistency that spreads easily and absorbs quickly into the skin, but it is simply not moisturizing enough for me. I find that I have to apply quite a lot of product to feel that nourishing sensation upon application and after several minutes, it really feels like I’ve applied nothing at all. This cream did absolutely nothing for me. It didn’t heal my dry skin nor did it soothe it but it has run out pretty fast because it lasts so little that I have to reapply it constantly throughout the day.

Now, as I mentioned, the skin of my hand is seriously dry so that may be why this cream didn’t work well on me. Although with a name as Rich Nourishing Cream it should have. I think those whose hands are already in a perfect condition and are just looking for a basic hand cream will have much better results than me, but then there are so many hand creams on the market that performs much better than I really can’t recommend it.

Available at: drugstores and supermarkets

Dove Rich Nourishing Hand Cream is a lightweight, quick-absorbing cream that leaves skin soft and moisturized… for less than half an hour. It needs to be reapplied often and so the tube will run out pretty fast. You may get decent results with this cream if your hands are already in good condition but for those with dry and irritated skin, this won’t do anything.

Xin, I hate it too, it’s so annoying! How can they get away with calling it rich but when it isn’t at all?! Yes, thank goodness it was really cheap. :)

Tammy, eheh. That’s cool, I agree and I like to see different languages on the same product as well. 😉 No I haven’t yet, but I will. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
