Name: Burro Di Karitè (Shea Butter)
Brand: I Provenzali
Size: 100ml
Price: €7,90

From I Provenzali’s website:
Effective anti-wrinkle. For dry skin and stretch marks. Prevents redness and cracking and protects skin from cold and pollution. Soothing after shaving.

What I liked:
- very moisturizing
- skin is soft, smooth and hydrated for the entire day
- soothes skin after shaving
- natural ingredients
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- consistency is very greasy, grainy and hard to spread
- too rich to be used on the face
- jar packaging not hygienic

I’ve already talked about I Provenzali Shea Butter Lip Balm (my HG, it’s so moisturizing!) and the Shea Butter Hand Creamy (very moisturizing as well but also very greasy!) and it’s now time to talk about another product from this range: Burro di Karitè (Shea Butter), a moisturizer for both face and body.

Packaged in a white jar (which is not that hygienic), this is not pure Shea Butter. It also contains Almond Oil, Vitamin E and parfum.Let’s start with the scent. It is strong and can be smelled for quite some time after application, which may put some people off but I quite like it. I’m not that good at describing scents really but this one smells very fresh and clean.

Because the cream doesn’t contain silicones or emulsifiers, the texture is grainy and hard to spread at first. I recommend you massage it between your fingers first, which makes application much easier. It is also very thick and rich, way too much to be used on the face in my opinion, so I only slather it on my body. A little goes a very long way so the jar will last you for quite a while.

I Provenzali Shea Butter is very moisturizing. Once applied, it leaves skin soft, smooth and moisturized for the entire day. I also use it after shaving my legs and the cream soothes skin well. It is perfect for moisturizing rough areas like knees and elbows and helps heal dry and cracked skin. It is quite a versatile and handy product to have around really.

It works just as well as my beloved The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter and is cheaper too, but there is one main difference between the two creams. Unlike the TBS Body Butters, I Provenzali Shea Butter is very greasy. That’s another reason why I wouldn’t recommend using it on the face. It’s actually best applied at night before going to bed anyway, especially if the greasiness bothers you.

Available at: Acqua & Sapone stores, iprovenzali.it

Summary
I Provenzali Burro Di Karitè (Shea Butter) has a grainy, difficult to spread texture that leaves a greasy feeling behind. However, it is very moisturizing, leaving skin soft and smooth for the whole day. In addition, it soothes skin after shaving and helps treat dry and cracked skin.

Rating: 4/5

Could be very helpful in dry winter days.
I use coconut oil as a natural alternative in winters.
This one is with a scent so has to be better.
