Name: Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush
Brand: NYC
Size: 8g
Price: $3.99

From NYC’s website:
This lightweight formula blends effortlessly to provide sheer, all-over color as well as subtle, shimmering accents, contours and dynamic highlights to your cheeks.

What I liked:
- good color payoff
- gives a natural pop of color to the cheeks
- has a subtle sheen finish
- easy to blend
- not sticky
- practical packaging
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- just like most creme blushes, it doesn’t last all day
- packaging looks a bit tacky

I know not everyone is into cream blushes but I love them. They’re very handy whenever I don’t have too much time to do my makeup: all I need is a good swipe, then I blend it in and I’m good to go. So, when NYC released their Blushable Creme Sticks and everyone started raving about them, I was curious to try one too but they’re not available in my country :( . Knowing this, my good friend Dao sent me a tube. Wasn’t that lovely of her? Thanks hun! :)

The color I have is called Big Apple Blush, a mauvy pink shade with a very subtle shimmer that looks very flattering on, especially if you have fair skin like me. The formula is creamy without being sticky and it deposits just the right amount of color on the cheeks. Enough to give a natural pop color with one swipe without looking over the top. But of course, if you have a darker skintone or just like a more pigmented color, you can always build it up.

It also blends effortlessly into the skin. You can use your fingers to blend it for a lighter application or a synthetic blush brush for a brighter pop of color. The brush, in fact, doesn’t sheer out the color as much as fingers (or sponges) do. In any case, you need very little so the blush will last you for a long time.

On the cheeks though, it lasts about 6 hours on me, which isn’t bad at all for a cream blush. Keep in mind though, that my cheeks are dry. If you have oily skin, it may fade sooner on you. If you want to prolong the staying power of the blush, you can use it as a base for powder blushes. That way you won’t have to reapply throughout the day.

I’m not sure how I feel about the packaging. It’s surely very convenient. The tube is the same color of the blush so you can find it quickly when you want to use it and the twist-up tube is very practical to carry with you in your bag. It looks somewhat cheap though, but I guess that, considering the inexpensive price, one can’t complain too much.

Available at: Target, Ulta and Walmart stores

Summary
NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush is a shimmery mauve pink that provides a natural and healthy pop of color on the cheeks with a subtle sheen. The color is pigmented, creamy and easy to blend without being sticky. However it doesn’t stay put for the entire day. The price is cheap while the packaging convenient, although a bit tacky-looking.

Rating: 4/5

Marguerite, su di me i blush in crema non durano mai tutto il giorno ed è stato così anche stavolta. Però si può sempre usare come base per il fard in polvere. Il colore è molto carino, concordo.

I’m glad you like it. NYC creme blushes are awesome! The packaging is actually an improvement, considering how tacky-looking they used to be. Drugstore makeup in the U.S have been improving so much in the last few years.

Dao, I like it a lot, thanks for sending it to me. :) It’s good to hear NYC is improving their packaging. Drugstore packaging can be so ugly and flimsy and I think this is ok. It could be better but for the price, I won’t complain too much, especially since the blush itself is awesome.

I love using these blushes as bases, I have combo skin and I find these last fairly well on my cheeks throughout the day. I agree with you that the packaging is a bit cheap, but it works!<3

Dee, I love using these as bases too, they work very well that way. And yes, the packaging is not that pretty but it’s convenient and the blush’s awesome and that’s the most important thing.

Maybe an item to keep it in my makeup drawer. Totally agree with you that its packing doesn’t looks that good. Wouldn’t want to show it around. But based on what you have written about the product itself. It can be used when sitting in front of the mirror :)

LatestGirls, I agree. It’s worth buying because the blush is really good and so inexpensive. The packaging could be improved but it is still a great deal.
