What it is
Phenoxyethanol is an oily liquid that subtly smells like roses.

What it does
Phenoxyethanol is a preservatives that prevents bacteria and fungi from growing in cosmetics, protecting them from spoilage.

Side effects
Just like all preservatives, Phenoxyethanol too can be irritating. However, it is considered one of the less irritating preservatives available.

A lot of companies have replaced parabens with phenoxyethanol lately. Sometimes, it makes me nervous to see parabens in kids products.

Dao, I’m not worried about parabens tbh, I have yet to see any reliable proof they are bad for our health but I understand why some people prefer to avoid them until we know more about them (or if they are allergic to them obviously). Still, it’s nice to have alternatives.
