Sodium Chloride, known as table salt, is a white and crystalline solid that occurs naturally in seawater and as a mineral (halite).
What it does
Sodium Chloride is used to thicken the water part of cosmetics products.
In addition, it can add taste/flavor to them.
It is also used in products designed for oral hygiene to cleanse teeth and mouth and reduce their odor.
Side effects
Sodium Chloride can be used in concentrations up to 5% in OTC (over the counter) drug products designed for eyes.
