Do you apply a face primer before foundation?
Beautiful with Brains says: I like face primers as they really help to create a flawless base for your makeup as well as making it last longer. But I only use it on special occasions or when I know I’m gonna be out all day and only come back home late at night. I’m too lazy to use one daily lol.

Sometimes….it really depends…. for daily wear, may be just foundation, and primer if I feel like it.
On some days, I just used a color-correcting primer with SPF then finish off with a powder, and I am good to go…..that’s for casual occasions….
For dinner, functions, special occasions, yes, I always use a primer!

Vonvon, I think primers do make a different for special occasions.
I prefer color-correcting concealers to primers, mainly because I know I’ll never finish an entire bottle lol. But they are very handy indeed.
I didn’t do primer when I was younger but as I age, I do think primer helps. However, most of the time my primer is just my SS. LOL

Jojoba, I recently discovered primers too but I agree, they do help a lot.

Umm…no. And I almost never wear foundation, for that matter. I guess I just focus more on my eye makeup and leave my face naked. Though lately I’ve been thinking I should start wearing foundation again. Hmm…maybe not.

), there’s no need to use it. 
I don’t wear makeup everyday, so I always wear a primer everytime I wear makeup, because the foundation goes on smoother and it lasts longer
I don’t know what I would do if I had to wear makeup everyday though lol

Stavroula, lol. I think primers are a necessity for those with oily skin as foundation doesn’t tend to last all day on them sadly.
I’m the same, I only wear face primers for photo shoots or if I need I need my makeup to stay perfect for the entire day~

Celina, primers are really handy in those cases and you can really see the difference.
I try but in moist cases, I’m too lazy to apply a liquid or gel primer. It does make my foundation last a lot longer, which is a nice thing since my skin tend to be oily.

Dao, having to apply primer every day can become a chore! But for those with oily skin is a great help.
As a person with the oiliest skin ever, YES, I wear primer. I NEED it. Makeup won’t even last an hour on my skin without it. It’s probably the most important part of my makeup routine. Without it, there’s no point in wearing makeup because it wouldn’t last. I seriously thank the universe for who ever created the stuff.

Tammy, oily skin is such a pain but I’m glad you found something that helps. I agree that for very oily skin primers are a must. It really helps the makeup stay put all day.

Actually, I’m not even in that boat lol. I only wear foundation on special occasions, and then I pair it with primer.

Isabel, it’s a shame they don’t seem to do much for you. Some primers I tried didn’t really help much in helping the makeup stay put but they did somewhat reduce imperfections so I still liked them lol.
No not for me too.
I just use the foundation directly.
I might give it a try though how it affects the outcome of the whole look.

Cat, most of the time foundation alone is enough. Primer is only needed when you need your makeup to last all day and it can also help create a more flawless canvas for foundation. If you have oily skin and find that you’re making is fading after a few yours, then I’d invest in a good primer. Otherwise, foundation alone will be enough.
Hi I have never used primer,and I would like to start seeing that alot of people swear by it.i have really oily skin though,what would be a good affordable primer I could start using? Thanks for your help:)
Cis, Laura Mercier oil-free primer and LORAC aqua primer are both good options for dry skin, but they’re pricey so I suggest you try to get a sample to see how they perform on you before buying the full size. Fyrinnae Rice Powder Primer is good too and also affordable but can be bought online only.
