Name: Glitter in Eyeliner
Brand: Layla
Size: 6ml
Price: €9,60

From Layla’s website:
Also the eyes can be illuminated thanks to the glitter! Layla assures a prefect laydown and a superior duration thanks to the most fine brush.

What I liked:
- available in lots of shades
- very pigmented
- glitters are fine and tiny and give lots of sparkle to the eyes
- fine brush makes application very easy
- longlasting

What I didn’t like:
- messy to remove!

This is the first time in the two and a half years I’ve been blogging that I’m reviewing a glitter eyeliner. I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that I hate glitter eyeliners, but I don’t. I do like how they look on the eyes, but most of them are just so sheer that they just place a couple of glitters here and there on the lashline and it takes so many coats to achieve an opaque line that I can’t help but wonder, what’s the point?

And in all honesty, when Layla sent me three shades (there are 12 available) of their Glitter in Eyeliner to review, I wasn’t really looking forward to try them. Well, I’m glad I finally decided to give them a chance and play with them cos these glitter eyeliners are awesome and, finally, the real deal! :)

N.3 is a beautiful antique rose, N.9 a bright emerald green and N.10 a bold and vibrant blue. Surprisingly, the pink one is the most wearable out of the three as the color is quite soft. The other two shades, instead, are very bold and bright and are harder to pull off. They are perfect to spice up your look for a night out or special occasions but not everyone will feel confident enough to rock them during the day.

As you can see from the swatches, they are all very pigmented and ONE coat is enough to get an opaque line! That’s the first time I came across a glitter eyeliner with such incredible color payoff and I’m in love. All the shades are chock full of glitters but you won’t be left with huge chunks of them on your eyes. On the contrary, the glitters are very tiny and fine, visible but without being over-the-top and just make your eyes sparkle beautifully.

The applicator is a thin brush. Usually, I hate this kind of applicator cos I find it terribly hard to draw a straight line with it, but I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that applying this eyeliner is instead very easy. I don’t know if it is because the brush is so thin, or because the bristles aren’t too soft (they’re not hard and don’t scratch skin either) or what, but I was able to draw a precise line on my first try! This is definitely a foolproof eyeliner and even those that have never tried liquid eyeliners before will be able to use it. :)

In addition, this eyeliner is also longlasting. It stays put pretty much the entire day on my lids even if I don’t use a primer underneath. Granted, my lids are only slightly oily. If yours are very oily you might experience different results. And it’d be quite easy to remove, as it comes off with just water, if only it weren’t so messy! Whenever I try to remove it, the glitters end up everywhere on my face. I guess this is a problem with all glitter products though, and not just with this eyeliner!

Available at: soloestetica.it and Layla counters

Summary
Finally a pigmented glitter eyeliner! Layla Glitter in Eyeliner provides an opaque line in just one coat so you don’t have to layer, and layer, and layer some more just to get a few glitters on your eye. The glitters are fine and not too obvious, making your eyes sparkle and shine. The brush applicator allows for a foolproof and precise application and once on, it stays put for hours on end. However, removal is messy as the glitters tend to end up all over your face!

Rating: 4.5/5

Awesome! Normally glitter eyeliners aren’t pigmented enough or have to much space between each sparkle. I’m glad to see that’s not the case with these.

Trisha, that’s exactly why I usually avoid glitter eyeliners. They usually aren’t pigmented at all and it takes a lot of work to draw an opaque line but not with this. You get an opacque, glittery and sparkling line at once, I love them!

They are so intense! Anyway, I think I like the green one just looking at it but I think the blue would be the easiest to wear/match other color without looking like a Christmas ornament.

Citrine, they are intense indeed! The green one is my favourite too, but you’re right, it’s the hardest to pull off. It is very festive and perfect for the holiday season though. :)

Makeup morsels, that’s my fave one too, so pretty! And I hate sheer glitter eyeliners as well. I just don’t see what’s the point of buying one if they barely leave any glitters at all on the eyes so I’m so happy these are different, so bright and pigmented! :)

Oh wow, these look amazing! I’ve never used glitter liners before, because they always seem like drag to remove, but they’re so opaque!

Dee, glitter eyeliners are a pain to remove indeed! But if you come across some that’s as pigmented and sparkling as these, then it’s worth the hassle! lol.

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

Squeee!

Okay, okay :) .
Wow, it’s really great that my positive hunch about them and their glitter saturation proved to be true. Thank you for this review. I hope we’ll see some eye looks with them in the future.
(Now I want to try them all! Too bad I won’t be able to afford it, maybe just one.)

Ana, you’re welcome and I’m glad you were right too. These are very pigmented, chock-full of tiny glitters and so intense and sparkling. I want them all too now lol. I have my eye on the brown one as I think that’s the most wearable for everyday looks but all the colors are simply gorgeous, it’s so hard to choose just one!

I’ll do some looks with them soon. ;)

Vonvon, they are so pretty and pigmented, aren’t they? I know Layla products are sold in various countries worldwide but I’m not sure which ones. Definitely Greece but don’t know about any other at the moment. I know they are gonna launch their ecommerce shop next Monday though. I’m not sure if they’ll ship worldwide yet but I will let you know as soon as I know more.
