Name: Matte Eyeshadow in Electric
Brand: Urban Decay
Size: 1.4g
Price: $17.00

From Urban Decay’s website:
Pigment-rich with an ultra-soft texture, Matte Eyeshadows are low in binders, so payoff is amazing and never chalky.

What I liked:
- beautiful selection of colors
- pigmented
- texture is silky smooth, not chalky at all
- blends easily

What I didn’t like:
- without a primer, it creases and fades after a few hours
- the price

It’s not easy to find good matte eyeshadows. Usually they are either poorly pigmented or chalky and just have a horrible texture. Being a fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows for they smooth texture and good color payoff, I decided to try one of their matte eyeshadows and see if these too work just as well.

Available in 10 shades, ranging from colorful blues, green and purple to more wearable shades like taupe and grey, I picked up Electric, a beautiful and bright peacock blue with an almost matte finish. Electric has the smallest hint of shimmers which is almost imperceptible. The shimmer is so subtle that at first, I didn’t even notice it lol, but it is definitely there and prevents this vivid shade from looking flat and dull.

Electric also has great color payoff and a wonderful texture: silky smooth to the touch, it is easy to blend and I didn’t experience any fall out at all with it. I was actually surprised by how good the texture was. This is definitely the best matte eyeshadow I’ve tried and I can’t wait to get more.

Of course, though, it has a couple of cons. First of all, the price. At $17.00 this eyeshadow isn’t cheap, but if you find a shade you like and don’t mind the price, it is definitely worth getting. But if you have oily lids, this will crease and fade on you after a few hours of wear, so a primer is necessary to make it stay put all day long.

Available at: Urbandecay.com and Sephora

Summary
Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow in Electric is a beautiful and pigmented matte bright blue with a wonderful, buttery-soft texture that is easy to blend. However, it needs a primer to last all day and it’s on the pricey side.

Rating: 4/5

That’s pretty and I like the matte finish, but it’s a shame that it fades so quickly. Too bad!

Trisha, I agree that’s a shame but at least it can easily be fixed by using a primer. :)

Jenn, I wish it lasted longer too, especially since it is pricey but then most eyeshadows don’t last long on me without a primer. The texture’s wonderful though: :)

such a pretty shade! I would like to put this just the tiny lid area below the crease for that nice pop of color!

Nikki, it’s very pretty indeed and it would work beautifully that way. It’ll definitely make your eyes pop. :)

A lovely blue shade! It’s quite rare to find matte shades which are buttery smooth and easy to work with.

Vonvon, it is hard indeed! But that’s why I love this eyeshadow so much. The formula is just so silky and pigmented that I can easily forgive it for having to wear a primer to avoid creasing and fading.

I’m totally gunning for team UD now. I played with their stuff and I fell in love with the texture. This color looks a lot like MAC C-Shock, does it?

Dao, I think it loos similar to C-Shock, which I’m glad about as I missed that one. I really love UD, especially their eyeshadows. They have a wonderful texture and great color payoff.
