What I liked:

What I didn’t like:

- because of how creamy it is, you may accidentally pick up more product than necessary
- the product may dry out overtime
I can’t believe that in the two years that I’ve been blogging, I’ve never reviewed a gel eyeliner! Well, I think it’s about time I remedy that and what better way to do it than starting by talking about one of my favourites, Michael Todd Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Creme? Unfortunately I couldn’t find Chocolate Creme on Michael Todd’s website so I think it may have been discounted or something, but it’s still available on Love-makeup.co.uk, so if you’re interested hurry up and get yours now!
Chocolate Creme is a very dark brown shade that looks almost black once it is applied but it is not as harsh and is thus perfect to use on the eyes during the day when you want a more soft but still defined look. It is also very pigmented so you only need to apply one coat, and has the creamiest consistency I’ve ever come across in a gel eyeliner.
Because of this, it applies smoothly, making it easy to create both thin and thick lines. The only downside is that, because of the creaminess it is easy to pick up a bit more product than necessary so be careful with your brush. In addition, this eyeliner works very well as a base for eyeshadows and can easily be smudged for a smokier look.
But once dried (and it dries fast), it will stay put for the entire day without fading nor smudging. I’ve only tried it with a primer underneath though so I’m not sure how long it’ll last on its own but it fares well when used as a base so you should be ok as long as you don’t have oily lids.
The gel liner is packaged in a cute little jar with a black lid. As with all other gel liners, you need to be quick when you apply it and make sure you don’t expose the product to the air for longer than needed or it will dry out and become harder to use overtime. However, this is a problem common with all gel eyeliners and I’m always quick to close the cap on the jar tightly after I picked up the amount I need so it doesn’t bother me.

Gio tu mi vuoi male! Proprio stanotte ho sbavato sui prodotti di Michael Todd, sono diventati un’ossessione, non posso credere che il long wear cream in Michael Todd sia così splendido. E adesso anche il gel eyeliner. Il fatto è che love make up.co.uk non ha tutto.:(

Marguerite, oops scusa! lol Tra tutti i prodotti di Michael Todd che ho provato i cream eyeshadow e il gel liner sono i miei preferiti perchè sono molto intensi e durano tutta la giornata. E’ un peccato che Love-makeup.co.uk non abbia tutta la linea, sono daccordo. Però chissà, se parecchia gente compra magari in futuro potrebbero allargare la gamma dei prodotti e dei colori che tengono. Almeno lo spero.

Stavroula, it’s pretty, isn’t it? I love gel liners too. I was weary of them at first cos I thought they’d be difficult to apply but they’re not at all and I’m becoming obsessed with them.
I love gel liners. and this shade is very pretty. I have always preferred to use a dark shade eyeliner rather than black, whenever I can.

Vonvon, I love gel liners too. I hardly use pencils anymore since I discovered them. I think darker, but not black, shades are perfect for the daytime as they define the eyes well but give a softer look.
I’d love to see you use it in a face of the day look. Although, just judging by your swatch, it looks pretty darn awesome.

I never thought I’d ever describe brown this way, but that’s a sexy brown! It’s so deep, like dark chocolate. I looove chocolate, lol!
