Name: Long Wear Creme Shadow in Forever Young and Nude
Brand: Michael Todd
Size: 3g
Price: £9.99/$23.00

From Michael Todd’s website:
Our Long Wear Creme shadows may be worn alone or used as an eyeshadow base for longer staying power without creasing. Created in a water resistant formula.

What I liked:
- pigmented
- soft, smooth and creamy texture
- easy to apply
- work well both worn alone or as a base
- long-lasting

What I didn’t like:
- hard to remove
- small pot

Let me start by saying that I’m not a big fan of cream eyeshadows as having somewhat oily lids, they always crease and fade less than a couple of hours after I’ve applied them. So, when I received these two Michael Todd cream shadows I didn’t have very high expectations. I decided to try them on a day when I knew I wouldn’t have to leave the house so that I didn’t have to worry about people noticing what a mess my eye makeup had become.

So you can imagine my surprise when that didn’t happen. I would check my eyes every now and then, always expecting to see some creasing and fading, but after eight hours of wear, and a work out session (I like to exercise at home with the help of a good fitness DVD), these eyeshadows were still perfectly in place. No creasing. No fading. Ladies, I’m in love!

It was only after I’ve had dinner that I started noticed some minor fading. Very impressive, especially considered that I hadn’t used a primer underneath them! Of course, I still recommend you use one if your lids are very oily. Another proof of how longlasting the formula is, is the fact that these eyeshadows aren’t that easy to remove. You’ll need a good bilayer remover to take them all off. But I think it’s about time to talk about the shades now.

Forever Young is a silver shade with goldish brown undertones. I honestly didn’t expect to like this shade that much when I saw it in the pot but it’s absolutely gorgeous. It looks very natural once applied, but not boring at all and it really brightens up the eye area and makes you look more awake. I started using this shade very often when I’m in a rush for a simple but polished and fresh look. Very pigmented, all I need is a swipe and I’m good to go.

Nude is a flesh-toned nude color with a matte finish. I like to use it on the browbone to highlight my eyes or as an eyeshadow base to help powder shadows better stick to the lid. This too is pigmented and you only need to apply very little.

The formula is very soft, and creamy, similar to that of a gel-liner but not quite. They work very well both when used alone or as a primer to make powders eyeshadows pop and last longer. My only complaint would be that the pot is small, but considering how pigmented they are, you only need so very little for each application so that they will last for a long time.

Available at: Love-makeup.co.uk and Michael Todd Cosmetics.

Summary
I love Michael Todd Long Wear Creme Shadows. They are longlasting and didn’t fade nor crease for 8 straight hours on my somewhat oily lids without a primer. The formula is creamy and pigmented but hard to remove. The pot is small too, but because you need so little, it will last long.

Rating: 4/5

I’m falling in love with Michael Todd’s cosmetics.
I watched some video tutorials with warm palette and I would want to try any eyeshadows.
These Long Wear Shadows seems to be very pretty, in particular Nude. It seem perfect for my skintone.

Thank you for this review!

Marguerite, I tried a few cosmetics from Michael Todd and I have to say that I’m really loving this line. These eyeshadows are my favourites though as they are just so longlasting! And the colors are beautiful and pigmented too. The Nude is very versatile as it can be used as a base for any eyeshadow, to highlight the browbone or as an eyeshadow for barely-there looks.

Wow, the shades look lovely and you can wear them by themselves or as bases. I’ve been wearing MAC paint pots as eyeshadow bases and they have been doing fine for me. Glad to know there’s something similar out there.

Dao, these are indeed lovely. And very longlasting and versatile too. I haven’t got round to trying MAC Paint Pots yet (and don’t think I will now as you know I’m not into MAC these days) but I’m glad they work well for you. And also glad that there are some fab alternatives to it. :)

Forever Young is so pretty, but Nude looks like a concealer! :/

Stavroula, yes Nude is flesh-toned so it does look like a concelear. I think it is perfect for nude looks or as base but Forever Young is definitely prettier. :)

Tammy, yeah, the price is a bit steep so I’m glad that they are also sold on Love.makeuo.co.uk for only £10. But I think they are worth the US price anyway as they are so longlasting and pigmented too. Micheal Todd makes some great products, you should check them out. ;)
